Camila had waited every day to see if the other girl showed up anymore. Is it dumb to hope that a stranger will stay true to their word? Camila thought it was a promise, and maybe that was dumb. She's not even sure exactly why she wants her to show up so bad. Maybe its because of how real she seemed versus all of her friends. The girl seemed genuine and nice, not traits that you find often enough in people within her circle.

Perched on the steps in front of her home, Camila had began reading a particularly interesting crime novel. She was invested after the first few chapters, so invested that she never noticed a particular brunette sitting down beside her.

"Is it that good?"

Camila jumps, holding her chest. "Shit you scared me."

Lauren smirks up at the girl. "I'm sorry, princess. Not used to that huh? Too secure?"

Camila rolls her eyes. "This isn't all it's said to be."

"I don't know, princess. Life of the glamorous seems pretty great to me. Big diamonds. Nice cars. Fancy dinners. Pretty houses....and pretty girls." Lauren blatantly checks her out, smirking at the tint on Camila's cheeks. "That's forbidden isn't it?"

"What?"

"Being gay."

Camila isn't sure what to say. "It's not...I don't see it-"

"So it must be wrong, right?"

"I don't see it...but it's never been said...So...I'm not sure about my parents in particular."

"Good people?"

"Most of the time."

"That's good."

"Are you..." Camila hesitates then decides to stop herself. "Never mind."

"Am I gay?"

"Yeah." Camila says, looking down.

"Sometimes." Lauren says with a shrug.

Camila is taken aback by how casually she's talking about it. "You've been with girls?"

Lauren smiles. "Plenty. I prefer girls, actually."

"That's...nice."

"So, Camila. Have you ever thought about it?"

"About what?"

"Being with a girl." Lauren says, nearly scoffing at how clueless the other girl is.

"No." Camila says with a shake of her head. "I'm not like that."

Lauren stands. "You're not like that because you know everyone else would be ashamed, right? You may not be sure about your parents, but I know you're sure about your friends. Oh god. What would they say?" Lauren asks, circling the girl. "Would they say you're disgusting? Would they leave you?" She asks, watching the girls body tense. "It's sad really. Putting up this front....You've been waiting for me to come back." Lauren says matter of factly. "You know why?"

"Why?"

"Because you find me attractive. I can see it in your eyes in this very moment."

"No-"

"It's okay, Camz."

Camila's skin crawls at the nickname. "I'm not like that."

"You don't find me attractive?"

Camila stays silent. Is she right? Is she attracted to her? What other reason is there to hope for a stranger to come back?

"I...you're pretty."

"I know." Lauren says. "It's more than that, though."
Lauren gets closer to Camila, so close that the skin of their arms ghost one another and Lauren's breath fans her ear. "You'll find that it's okay to be a little curious."

The goosebumps return as Lauren whispers in her ear.

"You only started reading that to have an excuse to be out here, right? So you could wait for me?" Lauren smiles, a playful glint in her eyes.

"It's nice out."

"It's nice out." Lauren mocks.

Camila giggles. "So, what if It was all for you? That seems a little ridiculous, right?"

"Nothing's ridiculous in the kind of life you live. You always get what you want, right?"

Camila shrugs.

"Cmon Camz. The answer is yes and you know it." Lauren smacks her arm. "Not that this would be any different."

Camila'a brows furrow with her words. "You mean...I could have you?"

"Without a doubt. But then again..." Lauren takes a few loose strands of Camila's hair and plays with it. "Someone like you outta have to beg for once in their life." She smirks, gauging the girls reaction.

"I-"

"You've never had to beg. That'll change. Maybe sooner, maybe later. We'll see. Until next time, Camz!" Lauren waves, not looking back.

Camila watches her go, certain that she'll be back again. But when?
