New Girl ( Rhydian x reader )

Park

The door slammed behind them as the group departed the house and began the trek to the park.

Tom, Maddy and Shannon walked infront chatting while (y/n) and Rhydian walked just behind.

Neither said anything but rather let themselves stay in the comfortable silence which had fallen over the two in the back. The only time one of them was broken out of their thoughts on the journey was when their hands brushed lightly against each other.

By the time (y/n) had realised that they had arrived, Tom and Shannon had already sat down on the swings whilst Maddy gave the evil eye to any child that dare approach.

THUD

A yelp was heard as Tom pushed Shannon of the swing -presumably she had said something he disagreed with.

Another yelp. This time from Tom as he received a swift hit over the head. Rhydian snickered and the conversation began to sweep the group.

Only when a child's sobs could be heard did the conversation come to a halt.
"Did you hear that?" Maddie asked.
The others answered with a collective nod looking around for the source of the sound.

A small child sat, curled up into an almost uncomfortable looking ball across the other side of the park.

Naturally, Shannon was the first to get up and approach the crying kid.

"Are you okay?".

More sobs.

Tom and Maddie seemed to be comfortable watching from afar but (y/n) and Rhydian made their way slowly, gingerly closer. (y/n)'s motherly instincts took over.

She reached out a hand to the child and began to speak in what could only be described as a beautiful, soft maternal manner.

"Hey, are you alright, little one?"

The sobs started to decrease into but sniffles. A small shake of the head as the kid took (y/n)'s hand.

(y/n) pulled the little boy into a brief hug and asked "Why's that, then?".

"I don't know where my mummy is." came the small voice in between sniffles.

"How about I go and help you find her?"

A nod of the head and it was agreed upon.

"And what would your name happen to be?"

"Ollie"

"Well then Ollie, let's go find your mummy." (y/n) said picking him up

"Rhydian, you're coming with me," she said "the rest of you can meet us back here after. "

The others looked at her in awe, with Ollie now resting on her hip, she had taken control of the situation amazingly. She set out to look for the kid's mum.

(y/n) took one glance at Rhydian and swiftly gestured for him to follow.

Hi..been a while, hasn't it.
Sorry I haven't updated in so long and I'm sorry about how short this chapter is and how rubbish it is. I had to get this chapter done so I can lay out plans for the next one.
