Happy Valentines Day <3

Slight warning: Implied sexual activity, there ya go. It's just implied chill out I promise it's not even that bad.

Also the song's meaning is pretty blatant, if you catch my drift

Link knew the day was coming soon, it was nearly the fourteenth. He'd been nervous about it ever since he realized it was only a week away. He and Revali were still traveling through Hyrule at a steady pace and he made no mention of the holiday. Link assumed Revali didn't celebrate it but he still wanted to try and get the perfect gift for his companion. The holiday he was so anxious about is known as The Day of Flowers. It was a holiday dedicated to showing love and giving gifts of flowers. Whether it be between friends, family... lovers. The choice of flowers were also extremely important as any florist will tell you. Every flower had their own meaning and giving the wrong kind of flower on this day of all days could be disastrous. You could be trying to express unrequited love but instead give a bouquet of cowardice or disgust. Luckily, if nothing else, Link was a man with a plan. He would drop subtle hints throughout the week trying to discern what Revali liked. There was minimal progress until he hit the jackpot during one of their dinners at their camp.

"Okay I've got one for you, what's your favorite color?" Link signed, trying to seem as casual as possible. Revali looked up from his mushroom soup that Link had cooked for them.

"hmmm," he put a feather under his beak, "I would have to say crimson is my favorite. It is what I wear on my eyes after all," he pointed towards his makeup as he explained.

"Why is it your favorite? Naming a color is easy, it's the reason that I want to hear," Link signed back. This caused Revali to sit back a bit on the log he was currently using as a seat. After a moment of gazing at the stars he returned his gaze.

"It shares the same color as my favorite flower. I think that might be why I like it so much even after all these years. When I was growing up there was a little secluded patch of grass amongst all the snow. Every spring the Fire Lily would bloom in just that one spot. I always made it a point to go and observe them after they bloomed. Does that answer your question, mi amor?" Revali said with a smile. Loving the blush that played on Link's cheeks whenever he called him that. Link was watching the horizon, the memory of that night slowly fading away.

Link sat up from where he was sitting. That night had given him the perfect gift idea; the only issue was actually retrieving it. They were still trying to make their way to the "new" Hyrule Garrison. It was a town on the way to their destination and it would make a good stopping point to restock and relax for a day or two. The hero had the plan laid out in his head: First, stop by the Garrison Town. Second, make up an excuse to leave for the day. Third, find the patch of Fire Lilies Revali talked about. Fourth, present flowers with creamy heart soup. Fifth, not appropriate to talk about in conversation. The plan was flawless, it just needed to be executed. It was drizzling while he was stood up on the hill and it wet his face. He heard steps behind him and turned to see Revali.

"Can you see the Garrison from there? Any more time in the rain and I'll catch a cold," Revali spoke up from the bottom of the hill. Making his way up to the top to stand next to Link. The hero pointed towards the lights in the distance. It was only around five in the afternoon but it was darker due to the rain. It looked like the small town had already lit up all their lanterns in preparation of more rain. "Alright, let's be on our way then. Maybe we can get warm by a nice fireplace, snuggled in a blanket with hot cocoa," Revali said wistfully. Link entwined his hand with Revali's wing as they watched the little orange lights in the distance.
