As the bell rings, indicating the end of school for today, the hallway is immediately filled with students making a beeline to their own locker to collect or manage their belongings. Donghyuck opens his locker robotically, having doing the same thing almost all of his life. He sometimes wonders if schools teaches you to become robots who takes whatever they were given.
Jaemin came with his bag slung over one of his shoulder, greeting Donghyuck who just hums in response. "Don't your boy crush live right across your house?"
"Yeah," Donghyuck answers as he zip his bag. "why?"
"Nothing, it's just that you could, I don't know, bring some eggs or homemade cookies to his house?" Jaemin shrugs. "You know, like an excuse to see him or maybe get closer to him." It's been several days since the whole Sicheng thing and now Jaemin wouldn't shut up about being Donghyuck's wingman now that donghyuck "got a bigger chance" or whatever Jaemin had said.
Donghyuck takes his backpack and the two best friends walk towards the entrance of the school. "He's in collage, I don't fucking know when he's home or not. Besides, he mostly goes for late night rides and come back at like, three in the morning. Also, eggs?"
"I'm not gonna ask how you know that information, but what about you give it to him at dinnertime?"
"What if his parents the one who opens the door?" Donghyuck argues.
"What if Sicheng does?"
"You never know what could happen."
"My exact point." Jaemin said in an exaggerated tone.
Donghyuck rolls his eyes. "I'll do it, if that makes you happy."
"No, it doesn't, but I'm helping you out right now."
"Sure." Donghyuck snaps sarcastically.
"I'm serious! I want you to step up your game. I want you to have this one." Jaemin smiles.
Donghyuck considers Jaemin's words for a second before replying, "I appreciate that."
"Now will you introduce me to your ex?"
"Fuck off, literally."
As they walk out of the school, Jaemin speaks up again, "You should consider getting some eggs for Sicheng."
"Nope." Donghyuck said flatly.
The school bus came and the two of them got in.

Donghyuck hates himself.
He couldn't believe he's actually out here attempting to bake cookies to give to his teenage gay crush, an idea which he got from his straight-as-a-pole best friend. This situation seems like it came fresh out of a teenage romcom movie. Donghyuck hates it, he hates that he's actually doing this.
But of course, having absolutely zero experience in baking (relying on a not-so-promising youtube video) and a motivation of the possibility on getting to see his dream man, Donghyuck had, without a second glance, failed. To be honest, Donghyuck isn't surprised, he saw this coming but the naive side of him said "this shit could work", but no, no it didn't.
So now, being as persistent as a bitch, he went to the grocery store to buy eggs. Yes, that's right, eggs. Because he can't help but think of seeing his crush again, the naive side of Donghyuck won this round.
He made his way to Sicheng's house from the grocery store. His feet are working on auto pilot because his mind is too focused on planning everything he's supposed to do on every scenario; when Sicheng's parents answers the door or when Sicheng does.
He doesn't want to mess this up, but then again, he's bringing fucking eggs to his crush. Who the fuck brings eggs to someone you drool so much for.

Donghyuck have been standing in front of Sicheng's house for god knows how long. Fist lifting up to knock, only to fall limply to his side, this happens for quite a while now.
He gripped the eggs container tightly in his left hand, teeth gritting and body sweaty. He blames the fact that it was nearing summer that made him sweaty, when really he was just extremely nervous.
Lost in the thoughts of Sicheng, Donghyuck didn't notice the sound of lock clicking and the door in front of him opening. Donghyuck snapped back to reality and he found himself face to face with Mrs. Dong, it seems like she had casually dressed up to go somewhere.
She looks confused for a second but she's mostly curious, "Can I help you?"
Donghyuck's mouth goes agape, she had quite a heavy accent. He took a split second to organize his words before he starts talking to her.
"I'm Donghyuck, from the house across." Donghyuck finally manages to say.
Mrs. Dong had a surprised but delighted look on her face as she claps her hands together."Oh! I see, what brings you here, Donghyuck?"
Donghyuck gulps before starting his bluff, "I bought too many eggs and mom said I should give it to you."
That's right, Donghyuck, bullshit your way into her heart.
"Oh my, Just what I needed!" She said with a smile as she took the egg carton that Donghyuck handed over.
"Pardon?" Donghyuck asked in confusion.
"You see, I was making dinner and realized I ran out of eggs. I was about to go out to buy some myself." She smiles warmly as she inspects the gift. "Say, why don't you stay for dinner?"
If Donghyuck felt like he was going to pass out earlier, he's pretty sure he is dead now.
"Oh, no, I shouldn't bother you-"
"Nonsense! If anything, the more the merrier." Mrs. Dong laughs. "Besides, I got a son that's about your age, you can get along with him!"
Donghyuck couldn't complain any longer before Mrs. Dong pulled him inside. Well, shit. He didn't even get the chance to tell Jaemin what he wanted to be carved in his gravestone, he'll be dead by then. So Mrs. Dong expects Donghyuck to "get along" with Sicheng? Haha. What is the universe trying to pull here? Gee, they really enjoy making him suffer.
Mrs. Dong told him to make himself feel at home. To which, of course, Donghyuck would have difficulties doing so. How can he make himself feel at home when he is in Dong Sicheng's house, about to eat dinner with him.
Mrs. Dong came back from the kitchen and into the living room where Donghyuck is sitting on the sofa. She goes to the foot of the stairs and looks up. She called out something in Chinese and if it turns out she's calling Sicheng to come down (which she's most likely doing), then he doesn't even know anything at this point. He really doesn't.
Someone shouts back from somewhere on the second floor. Donghyuck tries his best to even his heartbeat and not hyperventilate. He subconsciously fixes his hair and straighten out the wrinkles on his shirt.
By the time there was footsteps indicating that someone was coming down the stairs, Mrs. Dong smiles at Donghyuck before returning back to the kitchen.
Oh fuck.
Donghyuck really didn't know that someone with disheveled bed hair, slightly baggy pants, and an unbuttoned long-sleeved shirt would look so incredibly hot. The thing is, Donghyuck knew he'd be fucked whenever he'd see Sicheng up close, so that's why he mentally prepared himself for anything. But dear lord. If he didn't believe in god yesterday, he does now. No amount of mental preparation could prepare himself to what he's seeing right now.
It was Sicheng. Slowly and lazily climbing down the stairs, dishelved pink hair, baggy pants, and a shirt he didn't even bother to button up.
Holy hell. God bless Mr. and Mrs. Dong.
