Cuddles

It was peaceful on the bus.

For once, everyone was busy in the arena as they prepared for tonight's show, leaving Shawn and his girl alone on the bus for a few short hours before he had to get ready for the meet and greets.

They had a candle burning in the corner, a random movie playing on tv, and Shawn had his girl in his arms. To him, this is what heaven felt like.
Her back was against his chest, head resting on him as she watched the movie, occasionally cuddling closer and wrapping the blankets tighter.
Shawn wasn't paying much attention to the movie, he was too preoccupied with the beautiful girl leaning against him.

He began peppering soft kisses to her shoulders and neck, moving her hair out of the way for more access. He knew he was probably distracting her from the movie but he didn't care. It was rare they had alone time on tour and he wanted to savour every minute of it.

"Shawn," She chuckled as she rested her head in the crook of his neck so she was looking up at him. "Watch the movie."

"Movie's boring," He grumbled,
wrapping his arms tighter around her waist. "Let me love on you."

Leaning up, she pressed a kiss on to his jaw before turning her attention back to the movie.

"You know someone could walk in any minute," She reminded, "Then we would never hear the end of-"

She was interrupted by the small bus door swinging open, followed by Brian and Geoff entering the small living room, ruining the peaceful vibe they created.

Shawn discreetly rolled his eyes and turned his attention to the movie, resting his head on his girl's shoulder as he prayed the two would retreat to the back of the bus and leave them alone for a few hours.

"Don't you two ever get sick of being so close all the time?" Geoff asked as he noticed the pair cuddling on the small couch. He took a seat on the beanbag chair they had in the corner of the room while Brian joined him on the chair across from the couple.

"Don't you ever get sick of being so annoying all the time?" Shawn asked with a hint of annoyance in his tone.

"Leave us alone."

Y/n shifted, suddenly feeling uncomfortable with the two boys staring at them. She really hoped they would leave them alone this time, seeing as they don't get much time alone anymore, but the boys decided to stay.

"No, really, Y/n don't you ever get tired of him being so clingy? Like, you're constantly attached by the hip." Brian interjected. "It's kinda weird for the rest of us to watch you two all the time."

"He's not clingy Bri," She began.

"How about you mind your own business and leave us be."

Shawn sighed as he buried his face deeper into her neck, wanting nothing more than for Brian and Geoff to hurry up and leave so he can go back to spending time with his girl in peace.

He doesn't know why it's become such a big deal for them to be cuddling on the bus, the boys have never been this harsh on them before. It's not all the time that Y/n joins him on tour, so he wanted to make the most of every minute before she has to leave again.
Neither of them understood why there had to be comments made every time they cuddled or showed any sort of affection towards each other.

They both knew the boys were just messing with them, but Shawn was beginning to grow rather annoyed his friends because lately their comments have been rude and unnecessary.

Y/n could tell Shawn's been taking these comments hard lately, just last night he asked her if she thought he was being too clingy as they laid in bed. Earlier in the day Matt had made another comment about Shawn being clingy, she was surprised he even remembered he said it.

"Relax buddy," Geoff laughed as Shawn began to pull the blankets higher over the two of them, in attempt to hide away from the boys. "You know we're just messing with you. Anyways, Andrew told us to come get you, he needs you for something."

Shawn rolled his eyes again as he got up from the couch and joined the boys at the door without a word. He was annoyed that they interrupted him, but even more annoyed at Andrew for ruining his time off before the meet and greet starts.
He quickly kissed Y/n on the head goodbye before heading out of the bus with the boys, leaving Y/n alone with her thoughts.

The next time Y/n saw the boys was while they were waiting in the green room while Shawn and the band were doing soundcheck. She had only seen Shawn for a brief minute between meet and greet and soundcheck, but she could tell something was off.

"You know, Shawn's really taking what you guys are saying to heart." Y/n spoke, breaking the comfortable silence among her and the boys.

"What are you talking about?" Matt asked, grabbing a handful of popcorn before sitting in the plastic chair across from her.

"Like when you say he's really clingy, or any comments you make regarding how close we are. I know you don't mean to upset us, but sometimes enough is enough, you know?" She explained. Her voice was low and soft, she didn't want to cause any drama by saying this, but she thought the boys should know how they're making their friend feel.

"C'mon Y/n, he knows we're just messing with him. We love you guys together, you make him really happy." Brian added, clearly offended by what she was saying. "We're not intentionally trying to make him upset, you know that."

"I know," She reassured the three boys. "But you guys know Shawn, he really cares about what you think of him and values your opinions, so you three calling him clingy all the time really doesn't make him feel good."
She looked between the three boys before speaking again. "All I'm asking is that you apologize, and maybe tone it down with the comments. They're really putting him in a sour mood."
Shawn practically pulled Y/n by the hand as he led her back to the tour bus.

Tonight's show was incredible and he was still full of adrenaline, though she knew he was going to crash as soon as his head hit the pillow.

The crew was already loaded onto the bus when the two walked in, hand in hand. Brian, Matt Geoff and Andrew were sitting in the front room, while a few band members had already retreated to the bunks for the night.

She couldn't hold in her giggles when she noticed Brian and Matt spooning on the couch, their large bodies practically hanging off the sides.

"Hey guys!" Brian called once he noticed the two walk in. "We decided to try out this cuddling thing, you know, to see what the hype was, and turns out this shit is actually so comfortable. I feel so protected right now."

Matt nodded in agreement from behind him while Andrew looked between the boys and Shawn and Y/n in confusion.

"You guys are idiots." Shawn laughed,

"What are you doing?"

"Look man," Geoff spoke up. "We really owe you an apology for what we've been saying. We know that you don't get to see Y/n very much while you're on tour so when you do, you guys make the most of it. We didn't mean any harm by our comments, but we're sorry if we've offended you."

"Thanks guys, I really appreciate that." Shawn smiled, "But I knew you were playing around."
"Yeah okay," Brian commented, "You were so mad today, we could see it on your face."

"Okay maybe I was a little upset."

Shawn admitted, cheeks turning a bright red. "I just want to love on my girl in peace."

"We see why," Matt contributed, "This is so comfortable. I need to find myself a girl to do this with."

"You have me!" Brian exclaimed.

"Asshole."

Shawn and Y/n giggled as they watched the two boys cuddle on the couch before Y/n decided they had enough for tonight.

"C'mon," She whispered as she pulled Shawn's arm towards the back room, where the big bed reserved for Shawn was.

"Let's go to bed."

"Where are you two going?" Geoff asked as the two made their way down the hall.

"To bed!" Y/n called, "Gotta go cuddle my boy."
