Cassiopeia has the habit of waking up at ungodly hours in the morning, her birthday was no exception. It had to have been at least 4am and Cassiopeia was ready for some work. But when she tried to leaving her room she found it was magically bound shut. Cassiopeia wasn't surprised, her mother does this every birthday. She wants Cassiopeia to "Sleep in" and "Relax" but Cassiopeia knows it's just because her mother wants to sleep till the afternoon again. Cassiopeia sighs and decides to take advantage of the silence.
Although she would rather use her extra morning time to exercise or cook with the elfs, Cassiopeia just sits to waterpaint. Water painting has always been a way to relax and slow down for Cassiopeia. Taking out an unfinished canvas and a small pallet of colors, Cassiopeia enjoys to mix her colors instead of having them premade. She stares at her unfinished canvas it makes her uneasy, Cassiopeia hates a unfinished canvas. It was supposed to be a rather boring looking young girl in a storm of radiant colors pouring onto her. But for now it was just a boring little girl. Cassiopeia turns on some of her mother's old records on and begins to finish her watercolor painting.
Two bloody hours, it took Cassiopeia two bloody hours to finish her painting. She didn't mean to take so long on it but she had to make sure it was perfect. Cassiopeia sighed it was 6am now she should probably begin to shower and get ready. As she walks into her bathroom she stares at her reflection. Cassiopeia knew she was strange looking compared to most wizards. You see the Ardizzone family was a black, Italian native, wizarding family. On top of that every female of the family had heterochromic eyes, quite unusual right? But for Cassiopeia she saw herself more unusual than her relatives. One clue she has to what her father looked like is how she isn't as dark skinned as her family. Cassiopeia's mother says she looks like a beautiful chestnut, but her grandmother has different opinions. Her wild kinky hair seems to be undecided between extremely curly or slightly straight. Cassiopeia can look at herself and point out which aspects look like her mother and what doesn't. It sometimes bothers her to know she'll mostly never find out where her other attributes come from.
The shower took longer them Cassiopeia expected. Mainly because Cassiopeia had accidentally spilt paint on herself and it took a lot to wash off. But it took almost no time at all for her to get dressed. Putting on a white button up with small splatters of paint here there, black skinny pants, and small heeled green shoes. Cassiopeia looks at her reflection in the mirror her hair was still wet. Cassiopeia dried her hair the best she could and put it in a complicated ponytail with her bangs falling just above her eyes.
Breakfast is always a grand meal in the Ardizzone mansion. Cassiopeia's favorite was the gypsy eggs her Mother makes. Breakfast with the Ardizzone family didn't always involve talking but you can bet that there was a bunch of talking today. Cassiopeia had Aunts, Uncles, and Cousins asking her if she was ready for Hogwarts and telling her how good of a Slytherin she'll make. Cassiopeia was excited for Hogwarts of course, but she was scared to see if she'll actually make Slytherin house. All throughout breakfast Cassiopeia wondered if she was going to see her grandmother. It was unusual for her to not come to breakfast like this. Cassiopeia looked to her Mother for an explanation which just resulted in her giving Cassiopeia a look that basically said 'be patient child'. She was nervous to hear what her grandmother had to say about her turning 11 years old today and her going to Hogwarts. Her Grandma has strict views about being pureblood and Slytherin. Cassiopeia has small burn marks on her arms and back that if you looked closely you could see very clearly. All because Cassiopeia questioned why 'mudbloods' shouldn't go to Hogwarts or her Grandma caught her sneaking around with muggles.
"Cassiopeia Arietta Jovanna Ardizonne get your culo in my room this instant!" an old slightly scratchy woman's voice calls out.
Cassiopeia and her Mother look at each other with the same 'oh shit' look. She can't think of anything she's done wrong but that doesn't always matter with her Grandmother.
