The doctors had checked on Aubrey after doing another X-ray saying, "They're healing slowly, but in another week or so we should be seeing them waking soon." The doctor informed with a faint smile.
Stepping out of the room I rubbed the side of my temples worried about them, the past three weeks of them being in a coma was overbearing. I wanted them awake to spill the beans on everything, but I couldn't do that with Stephanie because she had a family.
With the Hybrid Hunters helping me dispose of Dan's body, they wanted me to join them despite the connection I shared with Benjamin and Ivan all of this would've had Stephanie believing I was losing it.
Ivan's friend's offices were standing guard for us, she was amazing and told a series of jokes whenever it got serious for us. The lady was a vegetarian vampire that fed off of animals which were reassuring for Aubrey, it was a reassurance that she wouldn't easily feed off of them.
Even though I knew that they were going to wake soon the startling news that I will have to pry myself to them was going to be difficult, but they were going to find out sooner or later and despite wanting to delay that process.
They taught the importance of the end is the start of the beginning, without Franco here as the man I turned to there were only two people from my past. I needed to protect from the mistakes that were going to cost me the people I loved the most, yet looking at Aubrey the way they slept peacefully I closed my eyes picturing Franco right beside them.
"We could always turn them," Ivan said jokingly.
Staring him dead in the eyes I replied, "Not happening."
"Let's go home." Ivan nodded at the officer guiding me out of the hospital.
Arriving at the house I put it shoes to the side of the door, resting on the bed it was dark outside and with the hunger getting to me I ignored the painful pang in my stomach. The past few days the thought of Aubrey staying in a coma was exhausting; the overwhelming thoughts and the fact that her own family hasn't visited were daunting.
Grabbing a pair of PJ's the desperation to sleep was cradling in my bones caressing and convincing me to relax on the bed to slither right into a deep slumber, but the engine of thoughts was forthcoming proving difficult to shut off momentarily.
Changing into a V-neck shirt and sushi PJ pants Ivan entered the room leaning against the door, "Are they still investigating?" He asked.
"No, they should be on trial in a few weeks probably the ending of this month," I told him tiredly.
Sitting down on the bed I winced at the grumbling in my stomach, "You haven't eaten." He took a seat beside me folding the sleeve of his shirt.
"Won't you get hungry?" I asked watching the pulse of his writs throbbing.
"I drank enough blood to last me until next week, older vampires can handle it." He reassured me then gave me a flirtatious wink.
Glancing to his wrist the offer was tempting to feel closer to him, "You know I like it when you're the only one hurting me." He got comfortable on the bed, laying down he stretched his arm out.
Straddling his waist I placed a hand on his bare chest leaning down to the crook of his neck his hands roamed climbing under my shirt worshiping me. We tossed our clothes to the side I pressed him down on the bed, pinning his wrist over his head the hunger in his eyes was evident.
