Spitting fire

The flickering of the hearth's fire reflected against my pale skin. My hands outstretched, keeping them warm. We were in Red's living space, so to speak. The light wooden oak theme, the subtle handdrawings and paintings hung on the walls, the place really had a 'homey' feel to it. It was right on top of the pub. We had to follow the "secret" stairs that were behind some wooden wine barrels. Her place was simple, yet gorgeous. Red said she had to speak with us about something. She sounded very serious.

So that's why we were in this situation. Edwin standing next to the hearth, arms crossed looking cautious. Tsavia was stuffing her face with some food she found in the cupboard. The familiar stranger was lounging on the couch. He seemed bored with everything around him. His striking blue eyes scanning the room for something interesting. Then there was me. I was sitting in front of the hearth, keeping myself warm and cosy.

Red was nowhere to be seen. She led us here to her place, said she would be right back and left without another word. We've been here waiting for at least half an hour.

"Where the fu..." before Edwin could finish his sentence, Red waltzed into the room with an apologetic smile on her face.
"Sorry, I kind of forgot that you guys were here..." she said while smiling sheepishly towards us and scratching behind her neck.
"Anyway...I have something to tell but it's only for Leetu's ears." She looked at me with such intensity, her everlasting smile completely eradicated from her face and her usual bright green eyes seeming to darken. An intense cold shiver ran up the back of my neck, giving my whole body goosebumps and making me suck in air. What was going on?

Edwin noticed Red's intense stare and was, of course, the first to object.
"We are not going to leave her here alone with you!! We barely know you! Why would we do something like that?!" Edwin was shaking from anger and his eyes were pitch black, his half demon side coming out.

"It's ok Edwin, I'll be fine." I looked up at him with a small smile. This seemed to calm him down a bit.
"Fine, but just know I'm not happy about this." With that he stomped out of the room. Tsavia and the familiar stranger following after. I looked at Red cautiously whilst standing up. She was sitting on one of the kitchen chairs that stood in the lounge. She seemed to be lost in thought, probably forgot I was here. I wonder what exactly she had to tell me. I stood there for a few minutes, waiting for Red to finally speak.... but she didn't.

"Uhmmmm excuse me Red, but what was it you had to tell me?" Her bright green eyes snapped in my direction blazing with fury and then with calmness. "I'm sorry, I sometimes seem to drift off. If you get what I am saying." I had no clue what she was talking about, but nodded my head anyway. She seemed satisfied with my answer and stood up from her chair. Her feet leading her to the warmth of the hearth. The orange - red glow reflecting on her face.

"This may be hard to believe Leetu and I know you probably don't believe a single word coming out of my mouth... but I have to warn you about the dangers you are going to face." Her serious face seemed to grow ashen as she spoke. Sadness embedded in her once sparkling green eyes.

"Heed my warning Leetu, do not trust anyone. Not even yourself, for it may cause death and despair where ever you go." Her calm but serious green eyes stared into my soul. She wanted to make sure I understood, but I didn't understand a thing. What did she mean by death and despair? How could I be the cause of death and despair? The questions I had seemed to fly around my head. What should I do? Was she telling the truth? What can I do to ensure that this wouldn't happen? Lost in thought, I didn't notice Red coming to stand right infront of me. She was standing so close. Her breath fanning over my ear. Her hand on my shoulder bringing me even closer.

"And whatever you do Leetu, do not trust that boyfriend of yours." Her lips fluttered against my ear, giving me chills I've never felt before. I turned my head to see her clearly. Her green eyes sparkled once again as she saw how close we were. She looked from my lips and then back into my eyes. I could feel my face turn red , as I noticed what she wanted to do. She pulled me even closer to her. My body flush against hers. She was longer than me by a few inches and her arms were strong. I couldn't free myself even if I tried. I looked up into her eyes, wondering what the hell was really happening. The look in her eyes was loving, caring. Her lips made their way to mine, coming closer and closer and closer. Her eyes shut, mine as wide as saucers. I was mortified. Her lips almost touching mine...

"Okay, why is this taking so long?!" Edwin stormed into the room and caught us in this position. His eyes staring at what was before him. Red loosened her tight grip around me and I took the chance to widen the distance between us. Red seemed to sadden by my sudden retreat, but she hid that quickly with obliviousness. Edwin was just standing there. The look of betrayal flickering in his eyes.

I didn't know what to do, so I did the only thing I could think of. I walked past Red and Edwin, down the secret stairs and into the busy pub. Tsavia was standing there, flirting with some poor random guy and the familiar stranger was nowhere to be seen. I made my way outside the pub, seeking some fresh air. The street wasn't as busy as before. The night seeming to chase the people back into their homes. I sat on the bench that was right next to the pub. I took a deep breath as I recollected what had happened a few minutes ago. What did happen? It was so sudden, I had no time to react on anything and now Edwin hates me... and Red... seemed so sad for that fraction of a second. How could I have fixed something like that? Well the answer was, I couldn't. I took a deep breath, sighing as I looked up at the stars. I missed my Nana and I missed my brother. I just missed home. Yet for some reason I knew I had to go to the fountain. It felt like it was my duty to go there. I took in another breath, why did my life feel difficult at the moment?

"You doing ok sweet cheeks?" I looked up to see the familiar stranger staring up into the distance, smoking what seemed to be a cigarette. His white hair slightly flowing in the wind. His stormy blue eyes, seemingly all knowing. His muscles peeking underneath his clothes. He was the pinacle of perfection. Except for a slight scar on his right eyebrow but that only seemed to enhance his handsome features even more. A sharp jaw that could cut through anything. The face of a god and the body of one too. He was any girl's dream man. He suddenly gave me a slight smile as he saw that I was checking him out. My face instantly turned bright red and I almost hid it immediately. I really hope he wasn't one of those beings that could read minds. That would be so embarrassing!

"Well..?" His exotic blue eyes stared at me. Digging holes into my body. "I guess... no not really." I sighed as I looked away. Ashamed for what  almost happened. He sat next to me with a slight frown on his face. "You know you could talk to me." I looked back into those stormy eyes of his. How could I talk to him. I barely knew him. Yet there's something about him... I just couldn't put my finger on it.

"Red almost kissed me and Edwin caught us." I looked down as embarrassment flooded my senses. What was I thinking? He put his finger under my chin, forcing me to look at him. "It wasn't your fault. I can tell and don't worry things will get better, I promise." His voice was soothing yet slightly gruff, sending shivers down my spine. Good shivers. He was sitting so close to me. His leg touching mine. His eyes were so hipnotizing, making me lean slightly closer. I wanted to kiss him, so badly.

I couldn't stop myself. I was in some kind of trance. His lips looked so soft, so kissable. He was so close, his lips almost touching mine. Those intense stormy blue eyes quickly looked deep into my emerald one's, making sure if I really wanted this. I gave a slight nod. He pulled me to him and gave me my first kiss. As our lips touched, a spark seemed to form between us.

I wanted him.

Finally another chapter. How'd you like it? I know it's a little more mature, and not really like the Leetu we know. Tell me what you'd think will happen next. Till next time.
