Chapter 10
TOBI
I thought for sure she would have avoided me.
I hauled the door open, hoping the suddenness of my actions would intimidate her a bit and send her off on her way. However it was not what I'd expected. I was caught by surprise. The girl holding the plate of food, her hands dangerously unstable as it slid at a snail's pace between her fingers. Should I take it? Should I continue pretending I was still shaken from before? What was the matter with me? Why wasn't I moving? Why couldn't I make the decision myself?
Suddenly her fingers spasmed, the white ceramic plate lost it's placing within her hands, plummeting to the ground. I didn't have to look down for the shattering to fill my ears. Instead I kept my eyes trained forwards, watching the reaction that came of the girl as her expression contorted into one of shock. Then morphing into disappointment. She was upset. But why was it making me feel this way?
Say something. Say something. "Did Aya-chan make food for Tobi?" Play it stupid. Pretend you've gotten over before. It's not like anyone will question. Only her and I know about it, and you're supposed to be a scatter-brain.
She eased up a bit, probably relieved that I had said something. But still, she stood there staring like a deer caught in the cross beam. What was wrong with her? I opened my door a fraction wider, trying to flood some light on her face to read her expression.
"I- I'm sorry." She finally stuttered.
Her face was red. Embarrassment and something else seemed to be clouding her thoughts. This was not good. I had to clear things up quick. "Aya-chan! Are you okay?! Did Aya-chan get hurt?!"
"Ah... No. No, It's alright, Tobi. I'm sorry, I'll clean things up." She bent down, her hands shaking as she used the knife and fork to scrape things back into the plate. Never in a million years would I have guessed I'd be feeling guilty right then and there. Without even realising I had been put under her genjutsu. It was the only explimation I had for the feelings I was experienceing then and there. I don't think she had any idea that she'd cast it to begin with, which was a relief. But that also meant she probably wasn't aware on how to release the jutsu. I had to get out of there quick.
"I'm sorry. "I'm really, really sorry." She continued to say, picking at the ground and gathering all the plate fragments into one heap. "I'm so sorry. I didn't mean to."
It may not have been the best time to release the jutsu, but in these circumstances, what choice did I have? There was only one method to release a jutsu this strong, and that was to shut off all the senses. "Whoah...Tobi's feeling funny." I began to sway on spot as I focused on a spot in my mind, not breathing or hearing while I kept my eyes and mouth closed. A little longer. Just a little bit longer...
"Tobi?!" Aya scrambled to her feet, panicked when I suddenly dropped to the ground unconscious. The last thing I heard was her calling for help, stunned at what had happened since she was a ninja too inexperienced for her own good.

AYAKO
I couldn't help it and let out a tiny shriek. "Tobi?!" What did I do? What did I do?! "Somebody! Please help me!" No answer. Where was everybody?!
I looked down, and Tobi was in a heap on the ground. He couldn't just stay there, I had to do something. Really, I had two options. Either find help, or take care of it myself. Either way, both options involved getting delayed help to him since I had no idea what to do whatsoever, but atleast with me there, I could take action straight away. I decided to take matters into my own hands. Very carefully I sifted out one of his gloved hands from the heap and dragged him inside his room. He wasn't light, that's for sure. But I managed, and within moments I had him on his back and began searching over him with green medical chakra in the hopes of discovering the problem.
