Clementine woke up, annoyed. She had chosen the worst sound in her phone to set as an alarm. She stood up and changed. A light blue hoodie, black trousers, red vans-like shoes and her D marked hat (BechloeSendrick05 just a little reference to your fanfic lol).
-Hey, Clementine! You up yet? - Lee's voice filled the house, and Clem slightly smiled.
-Yeah, I'll be done in a minute!
The girl walked down the stairs, backpack already in hand, ready to have some coffee and finally go to her new school. Ericson's. It seemed nice.
-Good morning, sweet pea- Lee said, kissing his (adoptive) daughter's forehead and handing her over her cup of coffee.
-Good morning, dad- Clem smiled at him.
-You sleep alright? You know it's your first day today. You're starting ninth grade.
-Yeah, yeah, I know.
-I'm driving you there for the first few days so you learn your way to school, then I'll get you a bike and you can start going on your own if you're okay with that.
-Wait, a bike? Really? Thanks, Lee!- the girl with the D marked hat hugged the man in the light blue shirt and giggled- I'll pay attention, don't worry. C'mon, I don't want to be late.
-But it's still early, Clemen...-
But the teenager had already made her way towards the car.

Her new house was a long way from school, but it wasn't hard to get from one place to the other. Most of the way it was just going straight ahead.
-You nervous, Clementine?
-Nah... I'm excited, I think the school has a baseball team? I'm hoping I get to join.
-I'm sure you'll get it, you've gotten pretty good at it. And try to make friends, okay? It doesn't matter if they find out about what happened back at Georgia, it'll be okay. You're still having nightmares about that?
-I... uh... sometimes, but it happened a long time ago. Now my mind is totally focused on Ericson's so I've barely thought about it lately.
-Good, good. You know you can call me if you need me, right? I'll come pick you up if I have to. And you know you can always go fin Luke, your cousin. You do remember he attends Ericson's, right? You can stick with him 'till you make some friends, he said he doesn't mind at all. You'll be okay?
-Jesus, dad, it's fine- Clementine looked at Lee and laughed- I'll be fine.
"At least I hope so..." she thought.

After about half and hour they arrived to Ericson's. Clementine got out of the car and looked at the entrance.
-Good luck, sweet pea, I'll pick you up when school's over.
-Okay, bye Lee.
Clementine was left alone. She took a deep breath and started walking towards the school. And she entered.
-Wow... this is... way bigger than I thought.
The brunette girl glanced at her phone. "7:06... my first class doesn't start until 7:40, better have a look around" she thought to herself. And so she did. She started walking around the quad, taking a close look at the people there. Then she spotted Luke with some of his friends.
-Luke!
The tall, blonde teen turned around and smiled at the sight of his younger cousin.
-Clem! You're here!- They hugged, then Luke put his arm around Clementine's shoulders.
-Did you arrive a while ago?
-Nope, just got here.
-And how do you like it so far?
-It's huge, but I don't know, I want to make some friends but I don't know how, and look around the school but I'm afraid I'll get lost or I'll wander off and be late to class.
-Well, I can show you around near your first class if you want.
-Oh, yes please! I'd like that.
-Okay, see you later guys!- he waved at his friends and they walked towards the school.
-So, this is the main hall, you can see some stuff like this random inspirational posters and the clubs and sport teams you can join. Which number's your classroom?
-Uh... I think it's 202.
-Oh! So you're near the arts clubs. There's Performance Arts Club and Visual Arts Club. They're both great and both have cool people in them! Come, I'll show you and then I'll escort you to class.
-Thanks, Luke.
-No problem!- they walked up the stairs and to the right and there were the two clubs. The cousins peeked through the half-open door in the Performance Arts Club. There was a piano and a guy playing it. He was singing, too. "It's alright, but the other people in the club are just staring at him wtf". He was tall, he had dreadlocks and a long, beige, fur collared coat.
They moved on to Visual Arts Club. The door was completely opened and there were about eight kids in there. Clementine looked around the classroom until she met a girl's gaze. The girl was already staring at Clementine. The girl had short, blonde hair, and she was a bit taller than Clem. She was wearing a red hoodie with a white shirt underneath and a woolen, dark purple hat.

The girl looked away, Clementine saw she was slightly blushing. "Nah, I must be imagining things".
The cousins made their way to Clementine's class, although it was still early.
-Well, this is it! We can hang out at lunch if you want, little cousin. Hit me up if you need anything- Luke said, smiling warmly at the girl with the D marked hat.
-Will do, Luke. Thanks again!
-You're welcomed.
The light brown haired teen walked away and Clementine sat on a desk. Slowly, the classroom started to fill in. She noticed how different groups of people got together. Some kids stared at her, others didn't even notice the new girl. She sighed and pulled out her earphones. She put on ocean eyes, by Billie Eilish and just sat there, looking around. A particular group of friends caught her attention. They were quite a few. There was both the piano playing boy and the blonde girl in the group. Then there was a really tall and muscled guy with a really horrible haircut. And a ginger haired girl next to him. She was much shorter.
Suddenly, the girl with the red hoodie looked up and, again, each other's gaze met. The blonde guy looked at the blonde girl in confusion and the followed her stare. The rest of the group did the same. Clementine found all of them were staring at her, so she looked away in embarrassment.

-That's the girl you saw?- Brody asked Violet while still staring at the new kid.
-I...y-yeah...
-She. Is. Pretty- Louis said, elbowing Violet and winking.
-Shut up, idiot.
-Oh don't hurt me like that- the dreadlock haired boy put a hand on his chest and gave Violet a false hurt look.
-Fuck off- the blonde girl rolled her eyes.
-She appears to be alone, I don't think she has any friends. Maybe we could go talk to her?- Marlon asked, all of them sharing looks with each other.
-Sounds like a plan!- Brody and Louis said nearly at the same time. They all turned to the bad tempered girl.
-Go ahead, I doubt she'll want to be your friend since you're all so annoying- Violet crossed her arms.
-C'mon Vi, break down that iced exterior and free your kind self!- Louis hugged her.
-I swear to god, I'll kill you.
"She... she really is pretty, tho". Violet thought to herself, slightly smiling.

And so they started to make their way to the new girl.
