Chapter 10 I love you

He chooses me? Over her?

I didn't know what to say to him. I just stood there staring at him and he was staring at me with that warm smile that could melt any girl's heart.

Then I heard a noise coming from my stomach. I think Obi heard it as well. He chuckled.

"I think someone's hungry. Have you eaten anything since you returned?" He asked without taking his eyes of me. I shook my head no.

"Well, I guess I'll go grab sonething for us to eat then. I'll be right back." He said and jumped from the balcony behind him.

I smiled. I stepped back into my room and closed the door.

Obi's POV

These should be enough.

Fortunately, there was plenty of food left in the kitchen, so I decided to have some pizza, fries and some apple pie. It's Y/N's favorite. I also grabbed two bottles of beer.

Before I could take a step forward, I saw miss sitting on a bench, her back facing me.

"Miss?" She was surprised to see me.

"Oh, hi Obi" She gave me a smile.

"What are you doing here?" I sat deside her.

"I couldn't sleep" She said.

"Are you thinking about master?" I asked.

"Mhm" She nodded looking at the stars above the castle.

"Do you miss him?"

"Very much"

"It must be lonely for you not having him around, isn't it? And I bet you feel unprotected as well."

"No, not at all" She said. I looked at her surprised.

"I mean, I do feel lonely without Zen here, but I have you and the others to keep me safe. You are my friends after all. I trust you" She smiled at me again. I smiled back.

"What is that?" Her eyes landed on the food I was holding.

"Oh, I almost forgot. It's for Y/N."

"So you guys are friends again?"

"Well, I don't know. Maybe something more?" I felt my cheeks burning.

"That's good to hear"

"Yeah" I stood up.

"I have to go now. It was good to see you, goodnight miss."

"Goodnight" She waved at me.

I made my way back to Y/N's bedroom. I opened the door and stepped in. The lights were turned off. I saw Y/N sleeping on her bed.

Did it take me that long that she fell asleep waiting for me to come back?

I smiled. I went closer to her and placed the food on her night stand. I kissed her forehead and was about to leave when she held my hand.

"No, stay" She whispered with a sleepy voice and her eyes closed. I smiled to myself.

"Ok, I'll stay" So I stayed by her side the whole night.

Y/N's POV

When I opened my eyes it was daytime. I looked around the room. Obi was gone. I smiled. He always did that. When the sun came out he used to leave to do god knows what. But it didn't take him long to come back and then we would have breakfast together.

Now that I mentioned it, I was really hungry. I hadn't eaten anything all night.

There must be some food somewhere around here. My eyes landed at the food on my night stand. Pizza, fries, beer and apple pie.

"Not bad" I muttered to myself. I took a slice of pizza and munched on it.

"Good morning sleepy head" Obi said coming in from my window.

"Morning" I simply said.

"Isn't it a little early for pizza?" He asked.

"Shut up. It's never the wrong time to have pizza" I said munching happily.

Obi chuckled. "I guess you're right. But let's forget the beer for now" He said and I nodded.

Obi sat beside me on the bed and we ate our breakfast.

"Obi"

"Yes?"

"Why did you choose me?"

He thought about it for a while.

"Well, you would be pretty pissed if I didn't and kill me in my sleep, so" He said and winked at me jokingly.

"NO I WOULDN'T" I shouted offended. He bursted out laughing.

"Idiot" I turned my head away from him.

"I love you"

My heart skipped a beat. He said that so suddenly. I looked at him. "I figured it out when I saw that bastard stabbing you. It scared me to death. I thought "what will I do if she dies?". And I knew for sure when you ran away. I went to nearby villages only to search for you. I just couldn't lose you twice" He said looking away from me and smiled bitterly.

I was shocked. We both stayed quiet for a while. "I love you too" I said quietly looking down with a big smile on my face.

Now it was his turn to be shocked. He looked at me with red cheeks. I looked at him as well.

"Oh god, you're blushing" I said and laughed at him. He didn't seem to care. He was just looking at me with a warm smile.

He then cupped my cheeks to catch my attention. I stopped laughing and looked at him in the eyes. We leaned in and kissed. I had been waiting for this for so long.

Obi's POV

We broke the kiss and hugged each other tightly. After so many years, I finally had her in my arms. And I would never let her go again.
