The Babysitter

"I fucking give up!" Marvin yelled in exasperation as his portal brought him to an alley in a different part of LA, his head throbbing in pain as he slid to the ground.

"I have to fix this, but I can't with the fucking babysitters that won't even listen to me." Marvin groaned as he rested his head in his hands, closing his eyes.

"Man that girl can kick." Marvin chuckled mirthlessly as he gingerly touched the bump on the side of his head, wincing in pain as he used the wall to help him stand.

"God, I'm so tired." Marvin muttered, feeling a wave of dizziness wash over him as he tried to take a step.

The magician shook his head as he leaned against the wall, pushing away his weariness as he tried to think of a way to convince whoever the babysitter was that he didn't want to cause any harm.

"It's dark, I have to find somewhere to go without being seen by the cops." Marvin thought aloud as he took another step, leaving the alley.

Pedestrians shot him wary looks as he walked down the sidewalk, making his way back towards Mark's house.

"Making my way downtown, walking fast, faces pass and I'm home bound." Marvin sang mirthlessly under his breath, his wand hidden in the pocket of his cape.

Marvin stopped far from Mark's house when he noticed a police car patrolling close by, the magician hissing curses under his breath as he made sure to stay out of their sight.

"Okay, I might have enough energy for this." Marvin sighed as he took his wand, changing into a cat and running up to the front door.

Marvin meowed and scratched at the door until a young boy Marvin recognized from the hospital in Brighton opened the door, allowing Marvin to slip inside.

"Issac, what are you doing?" A girl with short brown hair and multicolored eyes scolded the boy, Marvin changing back into human form.

"Mahv!" Dark cheered, the baby reaching for the magician as his legs shook with the effort it took for him to remain standing. 

"H...help." Marvin whispered weakly, falling unconscious before his body fell towards the floor.

"Kelly catch him!" Issac shouted, the girl already moving towards him while the egos babbled amongst themselves.

"Got him." Kelly grunted as she caught the magician, carefully lowering him to the floor.

"I remember him, that's Marvin! He visited me while I was staying at the hospital!" Issac exclaimed, Kelly moving the egos to the playpen so she could put Marvin on the couch.

"Mahv?" Bim whimpered as he reached through the holes in the playpen, Issac kneeling down in front of him.

"I know you're worried, but he'll be okay. I know he's here to help you guys." Issac stated, the egos seeming to relax slightly.

"So this guy visited you in Brighton when you were in the hospital?" Kelly repeated as she looked at Marvin, Issac nodding as he watched the egos.

"Ee wan be nohmal, Mahv 'el." Host spoke up, Issac nodding in understanding as he stood up and faced Kelly.

"Marvin changed them, he should be able to change them back once he wakes up." Issac told her.

"How can you understand them?" Kelly countered with a confused frown.

"You just have to listen to them." Issac shrugged, smiling at the egos as they sat patiently in the playpen and waited for Marvin to wake up.

"Okay, so we just have to watch over them until Marvin wakes up." Kelly replied, looking over at Marvin to see his chest slowly rise and fall with each breath he took.

"Ugh, my head...where am I?" Marvin croaked in a raspy voice, his eyes fluttering open to look at Issac and Kelly.

"Wait...Issac, right? You were at that hospital with Jack weeks ago." Marvin mumbled as he looked around, Kelly bringing him a bottle of water.

"Yeah! Do you think you can fix these guys?" Issac asked Marvin, the magician attempting to sit up before falling back onto the couch.

"Here, drink this and rest up." Kelly directed gently, helping Marvin take a drink before letting him sleep.

"I'll let the babysitter coming in tomorrow that he's supposed to be here." Kelly told Issac as Marvin closed his eyes, Kelly going to Mark's room to sleep while Issac chose to stay awake and watch the egos.
