Hi, sorry for the wait on this chapter. I've been really sick lately and I'm finally just now starting to get over it. I've been updating my Sterek One-shot book though so if you haven't checked it out you should!! (If you want).
Derek woke up the next morning as the sun was rising. He was still on the roof, empty bottle of wine sitting next to him, Stiles asleep with their hands still intertwined. The wolf groaned, letting out a long sigh. He untangled his hand from the other and lightly shook him. The younger groaned rolling over but waking up.
"What time is it?"
"I don't know." Derek responded, "But, get up. We're still on the roof."
Stiles sat up, "Dad's gonna kill me."
"You don't have school, it's Saturday."
"I didn't come home or call him though." He muttered pulling out his phone. Yep, just like he expected. Four missed text messages and eighteen missed calls. He hit the call button bringing it to his ear, his father picking up almost instantly.
"Where the hell are you?"
"I fell asleep at the Hale's. I'm sorry." Stiles sighed, watching Derek grab the wine bottle and stand up, walking over him and back inside.
"You know you need to call me."
"I know dad. I really didn't mean too."
He heard his dad sigh loudly, "Just get home. And why're you with the Hales?"
"I uh, Talia knew mom and I am kind of friends with Cora. I've just been hanging out with them for a while."
His dad sighed again, "She told you about your mother? Right?"
"What do you mean?"
"Her being a druid."
"You knew??" Stiles slowly got up, making his way back inside.
"We'll talk when I get home from work, okay?"
Stiles sat on Derek's bed, "Yeah, of course, dad. Love you."
"Love you too, kiddo."
"Everything okay?" Derek asked, walking back into his room wearing a black button up and dress pants.
"Yeah, why're you dressed up?"
Derek looked down at himself, "I have work." He sighed.
"Where do you work?"
"That stupid hotel in the middle of town." Derek groaned, grabbing his name tag from the top of his dresser. "They let me do my homework when we're slow so it's a good job while I'm in school."
"That's good. What're you going for exactly?"
Derek rolled his eyes, "Just because we hung out last night doesn't make us friends."
"Rude."
"Architecture." Derek responded, "I have to go."
Stiles nodded, "Yeah, I should too."
Derek nodded, grabbing his back pack, and walked out of his room.
---
"So, when you disappeared last night...you were bonding with Derek??" Scott asked, tossing a baseball toward Stiles.
"I mean, kind of." Stiles sighed throwing the ball back.
"But he seems like he hates everyone?"
Stiles shrugged, "No, I think he just doesn't like to open up to people."
"I dunno man, he just seems mean."
Stiles laughed, "He's not."
"How'd you even end up falling asleep on the roof anyway?"
"I dunno, we were just talking and must've just fallen asleep." Stiles dropped the ball on the grass and sat down, "What I don't get is why my dad didn't tell me about my mom."
"Yeah, I can't believe he knew." Scott dropped down next to him, "Do you think this means he knows about the Hales being werewolves and the supernatural?"
"I would think so."
Scott sighed, "Maybe he didn't want to drag you into that part of the world? I mean he's your dad, he wants to protect you and stuff."
Stiles laughed, "Yeah, I know. But still."
The two watched the police cruiser pull into the driveway. "Guess that's my cue. Catch ya later."
"Bye." Stiles called watching his friend walk off as his dad got out of the car.
"Hey, kiddo."
The other got up, "Pizza?"
"Already called."
"Cool."
The two walked inside, both not wanting to start this conversation. It was probably going to be long and maybe kind of awkward and neither of them wanted to deal with that. Here goes nothing.
