John sat on the couch, beer in his hand, pizza on the table in front of him. Stiles sat on the floor, picking at the pepperoni as his can of Coke fizzled next to him.

"Why didn't you tell me?" Stiles said softly.

John sighed, "I was doing as your mother asked me." Stiles scrunched his eyebrows together in confusion. "She wanted to tell you when and if you started showing anything that could mean you could be one too. If not she didn't want you getting caught up in the supernatural."

"Okay, but how would you have known if I could be a druid like mom?"

"She told me I'd just know." John shrugged, "I'm not sure exactly what I was supposed to look for or anything but she swore that I would know."

"Well...did you? Because Talia gave me this book from mom and she said I should see Dr. Deaton..."

"I always knew you were something more, I just didn't know how to go about it or what to do. When your mother got sick we stopped talking about it. She wanted to created memories with us."

Stiles sat there for a moment, "Why didn't she try to fix it? Like...wasn't she kinda like a witch or something?"

John laughed, "No, she's was not a witch. I don't know the full extent of things."

"This is confusing." Stiles groaned.

"Well, you have Deaton to help and the Hales are all great people so I'm okay with you spending time with them and learning from them."

"I still don't like that you didn't tell me." The younger grumbled.

"And I still don't like that you're a pain in my ass but I still deal with you."

"Rude."

John chuckled, "You wanna watch the game?"

"Yeah."

Stiles groaned from where he was sitting on his bed, he had been studying all night for an exam he had Monday morning. One he was stressing out about. Scott told him to chill, Stiles was smart, and he'd be fine. But he couldn't help worrying. His mom always wanted him to keep his grades as good as he could so he wanted to be valedictorian like she was. His phone chimed next to him pulling him out of his thoughts, he glanced at his alarm clock seeing 11:42 in red before grabbing his phone off the nightstand.

How's the fancy druid emissary thing training coming?

Stiles scrunched is eyebrows together at the message, a random number sitting above it.

To: 559-642-8870
Derek?

He tossed his phone over to the side and started to clean up all the papers and books scattered across his bed.

From: 559-642-8870
yeah it's Derek...Hi

Stiles smiled at his phone, saving the number, and sending a reply.

To: Derek :)
Hi...I haven't started any training yet haha

From: Derek :)
Oh. I thought you did.

To: Derek :)
Nope, not yet. Why?

From: Derek :)
Just curious.

To: Derek :)
What're you doing?

From: Derek :)
I'm at work

To: Derek :)
Shouldn't you be working then haha

From: Derek :)
Fine. I'll leave you alone.

To: Derek :)
Omg no that's not what I meant. I just don't want you to get into trouble.

From: Derek :)
My boss isn't here tonight and we're slow.

To: Derek :)
Oh okay. Are you good at history?

From: Derek :)
Yeah...?

To: Derek :)
Could you help me study for a test I have on Monday?? PPPLLLEEAAASSEEE

From: Derek :)
I have a feeling that even if I say no you'll just show up at my house and force me

To: Derek :)
Probably

From: Derek :)
Fine, come over tomorrow.

To: Derek :)
Yay! Thank you!

From: Derek :)
Yeah whatever, go to bed.

To: Derek :)
What if I don't want to?

From: Derek :)
You'd rather talk to me? ;)

Stiles stared at the message in front of him for a few minutes. He wasn't sure how to respond. He didn't know if Derek was joking or if he was actually trying to be flirty and he didn't know how to respond. He debated on calling Scott but Scott's probably asleep. He should be asleep too because he has to go see Deaton in the morning...but he would rather talk to Derek.

From: Derek :)
I'm just messing with you

To: Derek :)
I totally knew that...I'm just half asleep...

From: Derek :)
Okay..goodnight Stiles

To: Derek :)
Goodnight, Derek :)

From: Derek :)
:)
