Zero Hour: The Final Reich

Operation ESCAPE

   The blast knocked out every single light and electronic in the city causing it to look almost pitch black. Screams, car alarms and horns could all be heard the streets below. Suddenly a another loud explosion occurred not far from the building Hopper and her squad were located. They all rushed over to the edge of the building to see what could have caused it, Hopper jumped back in shock nearly tripping over Bright Eyes.

"No way.." she said trying to regain her nerves. "Those are..."

"XT9 Hyper Tanks, the only other indestructible thing on earth besides me." Razor said interrupting Hopper.

"Thought they were only prototypes here, but those.." she continued after dropping the ashes of her cigarette off the edge of the building and pointing at one of the tanks.

"Those are in full commission Hop. The gun on top aint like our prototypes either that gun can probably destroy the side of a mountain at full charge."

The girls looked up as aircrafts began to fly over head, Larger ones hovered above the streets dropping in infantry while the smaller ones began to lay destruction on buildings throughout the city. The screams grew even louder as gunshots rang out from below. Mute clinched her fists and veins rose around her eyes, Bright eyes saw that her friend was becoming angry and quickly tried to pull her back to her level head.

"Mute we cant fight an entire army head on, we need to lay low and come up with a way to get back to HQ." she said placing a hand on her shoulder hoping to calm her down. Mute turned and looked at Hopper who gave her a nod before she acknowledged Bright Eyes, she then placed her hand on Bright Eyes' head as a way of reassuring her that she would not do anything rash. Hopper herself took a deep   breath before she and Razor kicked in the door to the roof to get back inside to a lower level of the building. It was only a matter of time before whatever this Final Reich was found out that the setup to bait them out and eliminate them failed.

Hopper sat in one of the chairs in a lower level office they found and a few glow sticks to light the floor. "Alright everyone equipment check, there has got to be something that still works." she said taping her wrist panel that was supposed to be able to resist an EMP or overload.

"Bloody thing it still resetting it self. We wont have a way to communicate with HQ for a while". Hopper said searching for anything useful in her bag.

"Drones are fried, goggles are dead , PDA is useless, hearbeat sensor not functioning. We're really in the dark here man." Razor said putting everything back in her bag. She began flicking a shell as if it were a coin and let out a disheartened sigh.

"Welp we're not gonna get back to HQ by assisted means so we gotta do it the hard way. With tanks on the streets, Birds in the air ,infantry practically swarming the city, and no way of communication. Bout as hard as it's ever gonna get for us." Razor continues as she got up and cracked her knuckles.

"You're right, if anything we need to find a better place to hole up because there is no way we can save these people...yet" Bright eyes said standing up and crossing her arms.

Hopper looked over to Mute and nodded. It seemed they made agreements with each other without communication. They both had great situational analysis and rarely bumped heads when it came to tight situations.

"Alright people listen up we're going underground until this chaos passes over and we can make our move. I hate this feeling of not being able help but I'll be damned if we don't fix this in the long term. Right now we're on the assumption we're all that's left. Code E.N.D is in full effect. Stay low and we meet in the drainage tunnels, hopefully my wrist panel comes back online and I can get us a ride out where they least expect an extraction. Good luck lads and let's get out of this in one piece."  Hopper said twirling her knife in her hand before putting it into her holster.
