"P-please accept my chocolates, Jinguji-san!"
Valentine's Day. A day in February to show one's love and affection to another. What comes to mind usually are chocolates, pink and red and white hearts, and walks in the park (idk I'm doing my best).
It also happened to be Ren's birthday.
"But of course, my lady. It'd be rude not to, wouldn't it~?" the idol replied, accepting the box from the girl. A sigh came from his companion, a man with neatly cut blue hair and cold, light violet eyes (are his eyes purple? I think they're purple but also blue. Someone help).
"You do realize that I'm not going to help you carry any of those, right?" Masato muttered tersely. He walked off as Ren gave a quick goodbye to the still flustered girl. An awkward chuckle from the strawberry blonde filled the silence as the two walked on; every now and then he'd adjust the load he was carrying. On the way back to the Master Course, not even half way there, Ren had already received a dizzying amount of chocolates, gifts, flowers and the like for both the holiday and his birthday. Masato had also received a couple of chocolate boxes, but he had come prepared with a carry-on bag while Ren struggled to keep his burden balanced.
Every year, Masato had to endure girls fawning over his lover bearing honeyed words and sugary gifts. Every year, he had to keep up a mask, lest he betray his feelings to the fans of the suave idol that was his childhood friend. Every year, the Hijirikawa heir-now-idol tried not to let it get to him, and Ren would ensure him that there was no way any one else would come between them.
Every year, he had his doubts. And every year, Ren proved his doubts wrong, though sometimes at slightly embarrassing times. Or maybe he was just easily mortified.
All of a sudden, a sound behind him drew him out of his wandering thoughts. Masato turned his head to find that a box had slipped off of Ren's impressive tower of gifts. Rolling his eyes, he managed one step before Ren tugged on his jacket. That is a feat within itself, mind you, with all of the things he was carrying.
"Ah, Masa, don't be so cold. You know I don't like chocolate anyway, and I have eyes for no one but you. So please be a little nicer and help me carry these?" he heard the other plea. Gritting his teeth, ears red, Masato hastily turned on his heel...and promptly knocked right into Ren's arms.
Ren POV
It was like a mini explosion of red, white and pink everywhere. Now on his bottom, Ren blinked once at Masato, who was also on the ground. Most of the gifts had fallen on the bluenette, and funnily enough, a blossom had fallen into his hair above his now tomato-red ear. Masato's eyes were wide with shock, and a pink tint soon covered his pale cheeks. Ren couldn't help but let a small chuckle escape, getting himself a withering glare as the other began picking gifts up from the ground around them clumsily.
"Gomen, gomen, Masa, but you looked so adorable with this flower in your hair and your face all red. Just like a school girl, too," Ren said, trying his best to apologize while also gathering the scattered gifts. At the last line, he felt a hard object hit his head. Grimacing slightly, he straightened up while turning to see if Masato had picked up the rest of the gifts. Instead, with a puzzled look on his face, Ren was met with the sight of Masato sitting with his back to him.
"Masa...? Daijobu?" Ren asked a little worriedly. Carefully putting down his gifts, he scooted over to Masa to find that his lover's face was now completely and utterly red, his lips shaking as he tried to form a coherent response.
"-diot. You're an idiot," finally made it out. Ren couldn't help but laugh out loud now as Masato buried his face in his hands, ashamed. Still laughing, Ren gently took Masato's hands away from his face. Serious now, Ren tilted his head down a bit, and brushed his lips against the other's lightly, then kissed him fully, eyes closed. When he pulled away, his lover's eyes were dazed, but still focused.
"I love you too, itoshi anata~," Ren whispered into Masato's ear with a smirk in his tone. That one earned him a yank on his hair. What the strawberry blonde did not expect was for the shy bluenette to push him away, only to pull him back in and passionately put his lips to his again. For once, Ren was shocked.
Masato POV
When he pulled away, breathless, a smirk came upon his own face. For the first time in a while, Ren was blushing enough that it could be seen through his light tan.
Saying nothing, Masato got up and brushed himself off. He put several gifts in his carry-on and briskly walked away, triumph lining the small smile on his face. In those moments, Ren was still sitting on the ground with a stunned look on his features.
"...Masa, chotto matte--!"
