People were staring at me, some of them unblinking, some darting quick glances at me, and those who looked at me with fear. But what was most painful was the look of anger and hatred that I felt. Directed at me. For something that I was not even able to control.

Tears were threatening to come out and rolled down my cheeks, but I dared not let them. I tried to look at the distance, but the crowd surrounding me was suffocating me, imprisoning me. I looked at my hands which were dirty; in fact, my whole attire seemed to have been out of an apocalyptic disaster. In a way, that was what happened, I let out mayhem in the human world. They couldn't understand me, what was happening to me and how did it happened: I demonstrated my power.

Oh, it started innocently enough. I was the outcast: I did not have any friends, nor did I ever want to have. I was always despondent and kept to myself. I did not trigger anyone harm and in return, I expected the same. How wrong was I... Every day, it seemed that they experienced a sadistic pleasure in tormenting me. They stole my personal belongings, pulled my hair till I cried in pain, and worst, throwing insults to humiliate me in front of everybody. So when someone said: "Oh, here is the bitch again, let us make her regret never to come here", it was enough to unleash my frustration.

I was at the shopping mall. With the little money I earned from my job as a waitress at the local café, I wanted to buy something good to eat. In fact, I really liked the food here; it reminded me somehow at my distant blurry past. I was an orphan, and no one even bothered telling me how I ended in this town. Sometimes, in my dreams, I heard voices, angry ones, especially those of a man quarrelling with a women, her soft voice surprisingly soothed me. I would always remember their voices as they resonated in my head.

When the boy insulted me, I was pretty sure my chocolate brown eyes turned a menacing black colour. My breathing hitched and I started to shake uncontrollably. I knew from then on that I had no control over what was right or wrong, on what I was doing. My anger took control of my body. The boy looked extremely surprised at my bold death glare in his direction, his smirk immediately fell and he looked quite frightened, to say the least. I raised my right hand, widening my fingers and slowly made a claw-like motion. He suddenly let out a piercing scream, while his hands were desperately trapping his throat and he was fighting to breathe.

I smirked evilly. Out of the corner of my eye, I could see the rest of the group running to help their friend, but I was so consummated with fury that, with my left hand, I flung them away, with so much violence that they lied on the ground unconscious.

It was not until I heard someone shout: "Help! A monster!" that I regained my senses. All around me, people were yelling, crying and running away in fear. I suddenly became very conscious of my surroundings. Some adults were helping the unconscious children, but I didn't see more as the remaining people started to form a circle around me, blocking me my only chance of escaping. I couldn't take on so many persons at a time, my power was still developing.

I discovered my telekinesis power at the age of six. I was still at the orphanage and the children and I were having a pillow fight. I, of course, did not want to participate and I was just sulking in my corner when there was a pillow flying in my direction. I put my hands in front of my face, shielding me (even though it was a pillow, I did not want to be disturbed) when suddenly, the pillow diverted its way and went flying to the wall instead. I gasped because I was quite sure that I didn't even touch the pillow. Thankfully, no one saw it as they were having too much fun. That night, when all the others were in a deep slumber, I tried to levitate objects and I smiled a real smile when the objects were dancing in mid-air.

Out of the blue, I heard a loud noise, effectively cutting my thoughts, and I saw a glint of red. The crowd no longer had its eyes on me but on the new arrival. My heart skipped a beat when I realised that it was police. They were surely going to arrest me and had me executed for being a monster. Well, they were close enough. I was a Poseedee.

A Poseedee is a sorcerer of great power, with a unique ability. I reckoned that there were five Poseedees in total, including me. Don't ask me how I know that, I just do. Maybe it had to do with the woman voice, calming my senses at night. After I discovered my power, she began talking to me, telling me that I must keep my identity a secret. Apparently, Poseedees cannot use their powers on another one of their kind. They were chosen very long ago by a group of persons called as the Sect who were the greatest sorcerers of all time. I did not know why the woman was telling me all this, maybe it would all come to me in time.

The policemen were closing on me and out of the corner of my eye; I could see that the crowd has dispersed. A bit tight for my escape, but I guess that I had to try and see. I took a big breath and made the run of the century. Everyone was surprised by the gasp that I heard. I began to run on an unknown route that no one really used. Suddenly, I heard a gun firing and naturally the target was aimed at me. I cried in pain when I realised that the bullet grazed my left elbow, leaving me halted a moment. However, when I heard that the policemen were running after me, I removed a bit of my T-shirt and made myself a tight bandage around the elbow and continued running.

After a few minutes, I panted heavily as I stopped before the entrance of a forest. It was still morning but the inside of the forest was pitch black. I looked behind me and I heaved a big sigh when I realised that the policemen were no longer following me.

I was lost, to say the least. But the pain in my elbow only reminded me why I was fleeing. I probably needed to seek help but if I returned in town, that would be the death of me. Unconsciously shuddering, I gritted my teeth and braced myself to enter the forest.

When I entered the forest, I was firstly taken aback by the brightness of it. Although the entrance seemed dark, the inside was completely different and provided a real scare-off for those fearful ones. The sunrays made their ways through the leaves and the grass was so soft, you could just sleep there. I combed the area and smiled when I spotted a lake nearby. I walked to it, only whimpering slightly.

When I saw what was in front of me, I stopped dead in my tracks. There was this enormous looking bear drinking the water of the lake. However, this one had claws bigger than the normal, and there were spikes sprouting out of its back too. Its eyes were a menacing red colour. My heart was thumping madly in my chest and I gulped. I began to retract my steps but I unfortunately stepped on a branch which made a 'crack' sound.

Just as I feared, the beast snapped its head up and sniffed the air. I was rooted to the spot. All too quickly, it spotted me and its red eyes made my entire body shivered in fear. It lunged at me and my instincts quickly took over and I flung the beast away. However, it immediately went on its four paws and let out an ear-splitting growl. I ran away as quickly possible and stopped in front of a giant tree. I inhaled and exhaled. Then I grabbed the nearby branch with my right hand and hauled myself up with as much strength as I could with my left arm dangling. Thank God I perfected myself at climbing in the orphanage playground.

When I reached a sufficient height, just enough to prevent the beast from scratching me and making me as his next diner, I looked down to see it huffing and groaning in frustration when it realised that it could not reach me. It gave up finally and retreated. I sighed and looked right in front of me. Shadows of leaves were dancing in a hypnotising way and I found my eyes soon closing.
