Rosalina. Her name is Rosalina.

Those words kept repeating in my mind. I did not know why, though. It seemed strange, a bit distant, but it rang a bell. It made my head swirl and this confused me.

Dylan applied the healing spray on me, telling me to close my eyes because there were scratches on my face. At dinner, we barely talked. My mind kept drifting off to the photo, to this family. There was this odd feeling overwhelming me and I couldn’t understand that feeling. We wished each other goodnight before going to our rooms. A smile crept up my face: I already considered this house to be a home.

As I went to bed and couldn’t find sleep, I stared at the ceiling, putting both of my arms behind my head. Why did I feel so connected to the name Rosalina? I shook the thought out of my head. I was probably so engrossed in the story of Dylan that I felt myself wishing that he could find his sister. I closed my eyes and drift myself to a dreamless sleep once again.

The next morning, I woke up before the sun. I put on my regular clothes and my boots.  I tiptoed myself to the kitchen, making sure to make no noise. I wanted to cook something for the both of us, but then I realised that I had no cooking experience whatsoever. As I was idling by and did not want to go back to sleep, I decided to go outside.

I put up Dylan’s jacket and tightened it around me. Since the sun had not yet risen, my surroundings were a bit dark and silent. A fresh breeze made my hair swirled and I was glad that I had Dylan’s jacket to protect me from the cold. As I looked in front of me, I realised that the snow had thinned, and when I bent to touch it, it liquefied.

I did not know where to go, so I just strolled around. As I passed by a dark alley, I heard muffled sounds coming from it. Curiosity got the better of me and I ventured in it. I could hear angry voices and beating; that made me picked up speed. At the complete end, I stopped when I saw in horror as two giant thuds were beating a young thin man. The latter was completely defenceless and the two brutes were throwing punches with a ferocity that I was afraid that the young man would die.

I did not like to see the strong taking advantage of the weak, so I shouted: “Stop!”

That effectively stopped the two of them. As they turned to face me, their hands were smeared with blood and their faces were showing pure anger and hatred. If I looked more attentively, I could almost see the smog they made as they breathed heavily. It did not help that their muscles were bulging out, which made me gulped in fear.

The first thud made a guttural noise as he lunged towards me. I put both of my hands in front of me and stopped him, but he was strong and tried to go through my telekinesis power. The other one tried to put pressure on his friend and with all the force that I could muster, I sent them flying. But they were not knocked out. I watched with growing fear as they slowly get up and run again. I used my last weapon and clawed my hands, I saw them struggling as I lifted them in the air. But when I used my powers, my body gradually weakened and before I knew it, the two giants smashed to the ground and I was panting heavily. However, they still were capable to fight.

This is the end. I thought sadly. I could say that I was glad that I met Dylan, though I was sure that he would be terribly disappointed that I was not able to help him…

I waited as I stood, frozen as my attackers screamed as they came at me. Suddenly, they froze too, and I saw something flashed in their eyes. I gasped in surprise as they started beating each other, administrating powerful blows. It seemed as if they suddenly lost their minds and went berserk.

Taking advantage of this helpful distraction, I blew them away using my last amount of energy and they smashed against the wall, finally unconscious. I heaved a sigh of relief as I took support to the wall.
