It’s been a week since we’ve moved here, and it’s been nothing but a blur, I worked my ass off since I had to do everything because apparently I’m the ‘man’ of the house.

Now to top all of that, I have to go to school today even though I’m exhausted and ninety percent sure I’ll fall sleep in one of the classes, but my mother thinks I have ‘’big dreams of becoming successful in my future career’’.

I mean sure, being rich and good at my future career is really appealing, but the problem is I don’t even know what I want to study in college let alone what I want to be when I grow up, and it’s my last year so I need to make all of these decisions this year, which are a lot, aside from what courses I want to take, I have to choose what college I want to go to, which is a really hard decision to make, one of the reasons being choosing the location, should I be closer to my mom here, or my dad in Mullingar, or should I choose a college away from both of them.

This is already giving me a headache and I’m not even thinking about it seriously, just great.

I stood up from the table grabbing my cereal bowl and walked towards the sink still trying to push the unwanted thoughts back.

After washing my bowl and spoon, I walked out of the kitchen and to the front door, I groaned when I looked out of the window since it was cloudy and dark outside, I grabbed my coat and scarf from the hanger, just then I heard my mothers footsteps coming down from the stairs.

“Mom, what are you doing up? You slept late last night?”

I looked at her smiling slightly at her disheveled hair and pink robe.

She yawned before answering:

“I had to get up in half an hour anyway to get ready for work, and It’s your first day, so I thought I’d wish you good luck before you go off to school and do… what ever you teenagers do in school these days, now come here and give your mother a hug”

I shook my head chuckling while I went up to her and bent down slightly to hug her.

“Be careful and pay attention in school”

“I’ll see what I can do.”

And that earned me a swap to the head.

I drove up to a parking space and turned the car off, people were everywhere and there were a lot of them, a lot more than what I was used to.

The high school was huge; from where I was I could see three entries, each to different buildings of the school. The one in the middle was the biggest and assumingly the main building.

I already had my schedule since the school emailed it to me about a week ago, so I already knew what classes I had, the only problem was, I had no idea where the classrooms were.

I grabbed my bag from the passenger seat and got out of the car making sure to lock the doors before I made my way to the main building with dozens of other kids, who either were laughing or talking loudly, too loud for this time of the morning.

After walking in to the building I noticed everything inside was either white or blue, I also noticed a few boys and girls wearing jackets with the same blue color and the name of the school printed on the back.

Thankfully there was a wall next to the door, which had the location of the classes and everything else I could need written on it, I had math first and according to the board, its class was at the left end of the second floor hallway.
