Chapter 3

-NYC HIGHSCHOOL-

"What do you mean you're not coming???" Angry brown eyes raised a brow in disbelief at the smartphone in her hand stomping around the school entrance.

"Skyla I swear I don't feel good, I'll instead go to a doctor." A muffled voice replied, he seemed to be speaking from under 10 blankets.

"It's not even the flu season!" Skyla exclaimed.

A loud sniff was heard before the sick boy replied "hehe".

"HeHe???" She mocked.

"Sorry bestie, you'll have to get through the day on your own, I believe in you and I know you can do it." He said in a made up deep voice.

The girl rolled her eyes before sighing "Do you need anything ? Should I send my driver?"

"No no no!" Was heard before a loud thud. "Ouch..."

Skyla let out a small laugh, "Be careful, bye!" She hang up.

The petite slim silhouette turned and look at the school entrance where fellow students flooded in. Karen filled em on her absence the night before. So today Skyla was gonna be on her own at school.

'It's okay I was alone on my first day anyways... wait no I met kyle on my first day so I was with him... DAMMIT WHY MAKE ME USED BEING WITH HIM... Shit I've become dependant on an individual ...  forgive me grand father you were right Americans are bad influence you trained me to climb mountains and now I can't even go to school without- oh is that Damian? hmmmmm DAMIAN...'

She sped up her steps towards him, who had just walked out his older brother car.

'Yay someone I know.' She thought with a smile before she greeted him.

"Good morning."he replied.  'What the hell... she's so quiet I didn't notice her presence."

"Was that your brother?"

"Yes."

"Oh you guys look alike, I think."

"He's adopted."

"What a coincidence." She snapped her finger like a detective who just found the last piece of a puzzling case.

"What about you? You have any siblings?" The boy asked.

"Yeaaah but he's overseas." She shrugged. "OH are you attending the expo this week?" The curious eyes asked trying to meet the emerald ones who wouldn't move their gaze from the halls ahead.

"I suppose so."

"You should, like there's gonna be a lot of new start ups and big companies, talks and my dad's gonna reveal his new energy project and like they're gonna put a loooot of stands and... OH there's even gonna be a buffet for lunch-" realizing she might've mumbled on a little too much, she quickly cleared her throat before turning red from embarrassment, "I mean if you're interested that is..." She finished in a low hesitant voice.
