She tried to pull out the ring, but it was no use. This was her favorite shell and she didn't want to break it! She had an idea. She got a pair of tweezers and carefully pulled the ring out. The tweezers were just enough to get the whole ring out without breaking the shell. The jewel in the center was sea green and changed into a deep blue. The metal was silver or platinum, it was hard for her to tell. When she held it up to the moonlight to see what it looked like, pictures covered the walls. Mermaids swimming and dolphins splashing in the water. Then she decided to tell no one else but Nicolette.

In the morning, Cassandra put her waist length auburn hair in a side braid and tied the end with  a blue duct tape bow. She put on Cherry ChapStick on her bright red lips and moisturizer on her pale skin. Her shirt was a teal T-shirt and her pants light jean shorts. She made sure there was no sleep in her hazel eyes. Now she was ready for school.

"Cassie! Hey!" Yelled Nicolette. She was an attractive teen with dirty blonde hair down to her waist like Cassandra had. Her eyes were bright blue and

"Hey!" She replied.

"Look, i have something to show you."

"What is it?"

Cassandra took the ring out of her backpack. She held it up for her to see.

"Its beautiful!" Nicolette exclaimed

"Watch."

Cassandra held it up to the sunlight, but nothing happened.

" Huh?" Cassandra said with sadness in her trembling voice.

"Anyways, my mom said that we can go n vacation together. School's over in a few days so, why not?"

"I can come! My dad was just gonna ask if you could come during the weekend too!"

"So then it's settled. We're going to Hawaii."
