Chapter 45 "I'll wait"

{Previously:

"That's Chaeyoung." Mina grips tightly at the knob before she opens it, "She's not the Chaeyoung that we know anymore." }

Mina put a fake smile on her face as she enter the dorm, she was so used of getting hurt by Chaeyoung that pretending wasn't a big deal anymore. She heavily sigh when she reached her bed and covered herself with a blanket.

"I hate you!" She mumbles, she was already exhausted just by thinking about it.

Mina checks in there schedule on her mobile, there were no schedules upcoming since JYP is prioritizing their new girl group, Twice has been set aside for the meantime.

"Oh sh-" Mina was startled when her phone vibrated, the caller ID shows 'Chaeyoung'. She hesitates to answer, Mina didn't want to hear another sorry from her.

Her phone vibrated again after the first call, it was Chaeyoung again. She finally decides to answer it,

"Yeah?"

[Sorry. Were you sleeping?]

Just by hearing her say 'Sorry' was painful.

"Was about to." Mina shortly replied.

[I- ahm..]

Mina sighed, Chaeyoung always felt very unsure about what she wants to say.

"Good ni--"

[Can I pick you up?]

"W-why?" Mina unfolds her blanket, and wrinkled her forehead - she's interested.

[I-I want to talk to you.]

Mina didn't know if she's just too soft for Chaeyoung or she just felt how sorry she is.

"You know you can't pick me up here at this time."

[Can we meet at the rooftop, then?]

"I'll try."

[I'll wait.]

Then the call hung up. Mina rummaged her body on the bed, she hates how Chaeyoung knows her weak spot.

"Is she coming?" Chaeyoung asks herself while she timidly drag her feet around, "The weather is nice though."

Chaeyoung checks her watch for the nth time, "She hates me now." She thought of, getting impatient.

"Chaeng."

"Hey." Chaeyoung notices the weak smile Mina gave her when she walk closer.

"What happened?" Mina asks, noticing the purplish bruise on Chaeyoung's right hand.

"Ah." Chaeyoung looked at where she was staring, she already forgot how it happened, "Don't worry about it."

"You're so short tempered now." Mina assumes she punched something out of frustration earlier, and she was right to think of it.

"Are you cold?"

"Cut to the chase." Mina met Chaeyoung's eyes, as she looked at her, "Do you still love me? Do you even still want this?"

Chaeyoung then looks at the bright lights infront of her, she closed her eyes and slightly held her head up high to smell in the air above the rooftop.

"I do." She felt a pain through her chest after, it always hurts everytime Mina goes right through her heart.

"I don't think so."

Chaeyoung was blinded for a second when she opens her eyes. She looked at Mina, and felt another nerve cuts out of her heart.

Chaeyoung knew she had hurt Mina a few times, but she didn't want to admit it infront of her; That she's still hurting, that she can't heal with someone that broke her but she didn't want to lose her, not again.

"I'm a mess." Chaeyoung shook her head, she wants the thought to get away.

"Chaeyoung."

Everytime Chaeyoung hears her name from her, it sweetly hurts.

Mina stood up infront of Chaeyoung, holding both of her hands. Chaeyoung was clueless, she just looks at the girl infront of her.

"Close your eyes." Mina commanded.

Chaeyoung did was she was asked to, she closed her eyes moving her head down, both of her hands hanging on Mina's palm.

"You talk too much now without thinking." Mina softly said, "You need to be in your world and tell me, what you feel, what your scared of, and what are your worries. I don't care what you mumble out, tell me."

Chaeyoung held on Mina's hand tightly after she said it, Mina sounded so worried.

She then recollects everything from the past, it was the thing that's breaking her apart. She hates to look back but that was the place where her heart is resting.

Mina patiently waits, she knows Chaeyoung was trying her best.

Then Chaeyoung started to say things, like a poetic she was before. The Chaeyoung that makes you cringe from her words, but her words are now roses and thorns.

"I'm breaking while you fall asleep."

"I'm still haunted by the memories."

"I'm trying to pick myself up piece by piece."

"I need a little more time."

"I'm held captive by the hole inside me."

"I've been holding back, for the fear that you might change your mind."

"I'm ready to forgive you, but forgetting is a harder fight."

Chaeyoung grips into Mina's hand tighter. Mina teared over as she saw Chaeyoung's tears drops on the ground.

"Tell me something real." Chaeyoung lastly said, hanging into Mina.

Mina do so, it was already kept inside her for years.

"I know you’re hurt while I'm sound asleep."

"I love you like you've never felt the pain."

"I promise, you don't have to be afraid."

"All my mistakes are slowly drowning me."

"I'm trying to make it better piece by piece."

"I love you like I've never felt the pain."

"I love you like I’ve never been afraid."

"Love is here, and here to stay."

"I'll wait."
