I pulled down my shirt and turned away from the mirror. With the shot still sticking out of my shirt, I winced. I hate shots, I can't even look at them. Mrs. Dixon ran back inside and yelled "Oh my God!" As if she just now realized that I still had the shot stuck in my stomach. Her hands were shaking, as she finished injecting the shot and pulling it out. She put a ban-aid and grabbed my hand. "This isn't a drill. Otherwise I would have pulled the blinds. I'm so sorry." I just bit my lip and we ran toward the exit, where we were the last ones out. Everyone was dead silent as they saw me and the nurse. And then one person booed. And then another. And soon the whole student body was booing me, and the teachers trying to shush them. But outnumbered, they failed and gave up. And then it died down. In that moment, when people were booing me, my boyfriend didn't stick up by me and stand to for me. My friends who tell me I'm amazing and I can do anything didn't defend me. They were right along with them, booing me. I turned around, trying not to let anyone see me cry. Then Aiden walked up to me and hugged me. "Baby you know you can tell me anything. I'm sorry I couldn't get here earlier, people wouldn't let me come. People were booing me. But I'll be here with you. Always." I looked at his face at a loss for words. "Aiden..."
"No need to say anything" he said like he read my mind.

A week later, it became common knowledge to the school I had diabetes. Society today doesn't even know there's such thing as type one. So since I have a type of diabetes, people just assume I have type 2, the most common. Type to is the preventable one you get when you're too fat. I don't know much about it, but I do know they take shots too, and I also know that I DON'T have it. It turns out the fire was a drill, but they didn't tell anyone, even the administration, to see what teenagers and teachers would do if we had a real fire. The only person who stuck up for me was Aiden. He still loved me. Just as he did before. Terra hated my guts for keeping this from her. She told me she was dyslexic so I guess I shoulda told her, but that doesn't give her any right to look at me like I'm an animal every time I walk past her, and to spread gossip about me.
Walking alone in the halls is weird. I used to be the center of attention, and whenever I was around, people would crowd me. Suddenly, I see a familiar face.
"Chanel!! I haven't seen you in like forever!" Chanel just looked at me blankly. Then she looked around to see if anyone was looking.
"Um yeah.... I missed you.." She said awkwardly.
"What's wrong?"
"Um... Nothing."
I just stared at her.
"Autumn.. I can't be seen with you." She got close to my ear and whispered "your a loner now. I don't need that for my reputation." She turned and walked away.
"CHANEL you were the one who said I could overcome anything when Ryan broke up with me!!" Ironic, Ryan turned around upon hearing his name. Chanel didn't even turn back around. She strutted her heels to Ryan and kissed him.
