a hollow tree

is a sign of unexplored ideas

that strangers are scared to explore

incase they find something

they don't like.

curious children; graze their hands

just to venture into a different perspective

and a voice to beg differ.

yet held by a collar by their owner and forced to eat dirt

dig till their hands bleed

and gold pours out of their mouth

degrading the curiosity

of the hollow tree; now drooping with sadness

and wilting in the shadows of industrial change

controlled by those who grew.
