the sunshine's rays

are rays of 'hope'.

only now mistaken

for an arsonist clouding the sky

with the toxicity of ashes
from a newborn fire.

these 'rays of hope'

are now 'global warming'.

and the dismissal of the fact

our earth is becoming an oven.

is removing the sense of security.

and what we lose sight to see

is that culprits are none other

than ourselves.
