"Papa, sing with me; sing with me" I shouted, jumping up and down in excitement. My eyes glistened with passion and love every time I thought of singing, especially with my beloved pa.
Pa looked at me with a gentle smile, picking me up to hold in his arms, he chuckled and said, "Okay my darling Marie, let us sing a night time lullaby together but then you must go to sleep!" The night grew deeper into the morning when I finally fell into a slumber.
As I snored away in my sleep, my mind fell deep into a dream, where I sat in a field of green and blossoming flowers surrounding me. The meadow was filled with music, a melody so soft and peaceful, that beauty grew rapidly like everything around me was breathing life. A group of five dashing young men marched towards me, singing in harmonies. They wore unconventional formal clothing that fit their bodies splendidly; it looked as if the material was as soft as silk. From white to bright colors, the atmosphere around them made it seem like they were from the heavens. Their faces were young, vibrant and angel-like. Handsome young lads they were, indeed. The youngest one stared into my direction for more than a few seconds, it was as if I was never meant to be seen but he had seen me! I got chills down my spine as he peered into my eyes. I felt completely naked from the intensity of his glares. All I could think - bloody hell, I couldn't think at all!
The one that gazed at me was a tall lad; he had a baby face with a dazzling smile that was so grand it could light a dim room. His eyes, they were green and dreamy but so gentle and kind. You could get lost in his eyes and feel content. He had brown curly hair that was messy yet stylish and charming.
I couldn't help but notice this handsome lad next to him. He was stunning, I couldn't look away. He stood about an inch shorter than the one with curly hair. His hair was stylish too but straightened and his bangs were brushed off to the side and in the back it was all over the place; it fit his face structure flawlessly. His eyes were a blue-green color, like the ocean with the sun shining down from high above; whenever he smiled so would his eyes. They were lively and alert. What a beautiful individual he was.
Next to that beautiful human being was a small lad, with a face that brightened everything around him. He was adorable, I could squish him! I wanted to play with his blond stylish hair. He had a sweet, lovable smile, along with a comical laugh that could make anyone snicker and grin. His eyes were a beautiful deep blue that sparkled, with a bit of a calm and innocent look to them.
Behind the small, cute one there was another stylish lad. He was what you would call a 'pretty boy', but not in a negative way. It suited him. He was very handsome. He had dark hair that he styled up. His skin was tan and soft-looking. His eyes: brown and fierce but sweet and filled with burning desire.
The fifth lad was very handsome, and out of all of them looked the most masculine. His hair was brown and curly but tamer than the other boy's curly hair. He had wise brown eyes that were thoughtful and sexy. He could really make the moment naughty if someone lost themselves in his eyes, if you know what I'm saying; wink, wink.
To sum it all up, these five lads were angels; flawless in my eyes. But why were they here? Who were they? Maybe if this was real and I was awake I would have some idea? But it was a dream and I could not help but stare into that one direction.
They slowly walked deeper into the meadow towards a pebble path that led to a town by the beach. I stood quickly to my feet giving myself a rush of adrenaline; then stood there for a few seconds while I regained fresh air in my lungs. Quietly and thoughtlessly, I walked towards the route they were headed. Everything behind me started to vanish, like none of it ever existed. Either way, I couldn't go back now, so I carried on.
When I finally reached the same path they travelled down, the light had turn to dark; nightfall arrived. I saw lights twinkling in the distance, slowly walking towards them; my body kept shivering with fear, after all I was afraid of the dark. The air was cold on my skin; I could see my breath. At night it felt like winter but in the day it was midsummer. Walking down this path, I was completely alone; it felt strange and uncomfortable. My feet froze, along with the rest of my body. I tried to push myself to keep going but I couldn't. The bushes near me started to rustle, and there was a light whisper rushing through the woods. At that moment, my mind went into shock and there was nothing but silence; there I was lying still on the ground. Tears welled up in my eyes wishing someone could be next to me, holding my hand. My body was as still as a corpse; was I dead?
Minutes passed by; my vision was hazy and the expression on my face was blank. I don't know if I had hit my head really hard and was hallucinating but in the far distance of the forest I could hear someone's voice. The voice belonged to a male, he had a British accent but my hearing was muffled; I didn't understand a single word he spoke. I had to be dead because I couldn't possibly be dreaming; that would be mad!
Then out of nowhere, his presence was before me. I could only see a figure; blurry but he was there. My eyes slowly closed shut. Every sense in my body became clearer as if electricity ran through me. All of a sudden my emotions began to pour out and something inside gave me enough strength to pull myself back onto my feet. There was a fire burning deep inside of me; giving me courage. I had to reach the far end where the distant lights shined; it was the only thing that mattered to me now.
When my conscious came back, I realized that there was never anybody there with me. I must have been hallucinating! It drove me mad, felt never-ending.
Gazing into the distance, I took a deep breathe, collecting my thoughts. My right foot took a slight step on its own and then my left foot followed. Before my mind finally clued in I was already walking in a good pace. Attempting to clear my mind, I shook my head and stomped towards the opening near the end of the trail. What rested before me stole my breath away. There had to be about a billion stars in the sky. You could see the town not far from where I stood. In the nightfall it was incredible, it made my heart flutter. I could never imagine how it'd be during daylight.
My feet now out of my control, hurried down the hill towards the town. I felt like a time traveller! Surely, I could go anywhere I desired! After all, this is only a dream. There could be a feast where everyone pigs out and never gets fat. I could be silly and vulgar as much as I want, not having to worry about a single judgement. Furthermore, being the only girl in the world surrounded by my favorite individuals, male ones in particular - or whatever floats your boat! Everything I ever yearned for could easily be mine in a dream - as well for others. But tonight, this one dream lingers in my mind.
BOOM - A loud clunk brought me back to my surroundings... enough of my silly thoughts. My face went red as I recognized that I stubbed my toe on the tiniest rock ever... is that even possible? Of course it is! At least for me it's possible. I sighed.
After almost falling over and cursing from the pain in my toe, I finally arrived at the entrance of the town. It was quiet but welcoming. It was late in the night so everyone was probably fast asleep - now what?
Dragging my feet out of exhaustion, I found shelter behind a cottage, it was small but it would do. It didn't even matter if I froze to death, my eyes would barely stay open. The last thing I saw that night were the billions of stars that spread across the universe.
