They pulled into a lot deep into the wood that had been partially cleared, but there were still enough trees around the buildings to not make them completely visible from the road. To be honest, Skylar hadn't seen any other property on the way up here. This was sketchy, part of her was freaked out and she was just now realizing there was nothing she could do at the moment and nothing she could do if things turned bad. Deep breaths. It would all be alright, for some God unknown reason, she trusted him. Part of her, trusted him against better judgement.
There seemed to be two buildings, one of them was definitely a house. Glass windows from floor to ceiling over two levels, very modern looking which she hadn't been sure she anticipated, yet she really had no idea where she was heading so there wasn't much room for picturing what kind of place it would be. The second one was a one level building which seemed more like a facility compared to the house. Closed off, small windows in the upper half of the walls, an industrial door... A completely different vibe from the house in front of her, and she wasn't really going to question anything right now.
The first thing she noticed was the wide variety of vehicles parked across the pebbled driveway, all line by a set of cement stairs that led to glass double doors. It all looked so luxurious, no reason for her to be admiring everything considering it wasn't anything she'd never seen before...But truthfully, he hadn't exactly struck her as someone with money so when he said it was once his parents, she hadn't expected this. She could hear the tires skid on the rocks, as he pulled up next to all the other cars that were there. He went ahead and turned off the ignition and he looked at her and took a deep sigh,
"Alright, so we're going to get you showered and properly bandaged up." he stated as he got out of the jeep. She followed suit getting out of the passenger side and followed him towards the stairs.
"Yeah, uhm...sure" she said, not arguing. As they were about to go in, he slowed down waiting for her to be right behind him, protective almost. As soon as they walked in, she was swarmed with the idea she didn't belong. As soon as you walked in, there was a staircase going upstairs on the left, white stairs with such a high gloss they practically sparkled. On the right there was a living room, grand and large, with a view to the dining room and you could even see a bit of a kitchen hidden behind the staircase if you leaned just a bit towards the right. She understood why he'd made sure she was close. The house was filled with people, she would have said about 7 or 8 of them if she had to ballpark a number.
As soon as they saw her, all of them stood up and protests started.
"Why would you bring her here!" one of the boys she recognized from the club shouted,
"Cole! What are you thinking!" shouted another, who she didn't recognize.
"If you wanted a friend for the night Colton, there are safer options!" A girl said, a snide comment.
Skylar was taken aback, not only had she had no idea there would be a gang here, even less be attacked before even being introduced. What the hell? Had Maddy been thrown in this situation, she'd already be throwing shade back their way. Everyone kept bickering, yelling at Cole as if he had committed a crime. Colton, actually, apparently according to the one black haired girl who made Skylar sound like a damn whore. Okay, Skylar, think quick. What would Maddy do?
"Wow you guys, such a warm welcome. Truly. It is SO NICE to meet all of you." Skylar went ahead and said as sassily as she could, trying as much as possible to stand her ground. "No seriously, yall should buy some manners. You look like you can afford it." Sky said, the second part a little less sure of herself, but the message came across as she heard Colton snicker and a few of the guys followed suit. They seemed, impressed?
