"The clouds wept when my heart sang a song of sorrow." —Sonya Watson
Grace De'Medici - First Verse
Two years ago,
When March with Springtime in The city of love - Paris, the cherry blossoms bloom beautifully. When the sky is baby blue, and when the trees are that mundane shade of grey-brown, then the bright petals are like light bulbs that illuminate your World. Behind the arch of glory sets the day, the river lies in the best curves, the towers of Notre Dame cut clean and grey, and a hundred bridges leap from either quay, pillared with pride. The city of delight, flashing upon, and I feel again that joy which brings her art to faultless flower, arrayed her sky by sky with pride and power.
When buffeted and beaten by life's storms, When by the bitter cares of life, when over my life's way of sunless days, and nights of starless skies. The calm and light that softly shines, within the lights and shadows of eyes. Beauty is never old.
This beautiful day of spring is a day that I will always remember for the rest of my life. Standing in front of a vast mirror, wearing my dream wedding dress from Oscar De La Renta. A beautiful dress can make you remember what is beautiful about life. And I looked at myself, with my blue eyes, and my cheeks were a rose color. Along with my dress, my black hair was curled perfectly and was half up in some intricate design of my best friend, Eleanor. She made sure that I looked stunning.
"Make Rowan De'Medici drop to his knees in desire." Said Xavier, my other best friend. Xavier and Eleanor, have both of them being my best friend, for as long as I could remember. They know me well better than anyone else.
"He will be the happiest man in the world because he marries you," Eleanor said beside me, as I felt her touch softly.
And I just smile, while playing with my diamond engagement ring, as I continue to stare at myself. I kept telling myself that it was just like any other day, everything will be okay, and all this happens for my happiness. And sometimes coercion is not necessarily wrong, because sometimes the good things are not right.
The door knocked and Rainier came to me with his big smile, Rainier is Rowan Father's, he is the wisest man with the kindest heart, I know him since I was in childhood. And slowly Xavier and Eleanor left, leaving only Me and Rainier.
"You look beautiful, Grace," Rainier said, coming to my side.
"Thank you, and thank you for walking me down the aisle," I said softly.
"I am honored to do so. You have become like my daughter. I am glad you married Rowan." He said sincerely. "Are you ready?" He asks me, and I nodded.
As I walked down the aisle, I took all of him in, He was dressed in a tuxedo, with green eyes. He is the most handsome man I've seen in my life. How lucky I am, to have him as my husband. He watches me walk beside his father toward him. As we come to the end of the carpet in front of the altar, I focus on Rowan as we got closer.
My family and Rowan's family sat in the front row. Rainier leaned down and kissed my cheek, before letting Rowan take my hand. I stepped towards him and stood in front of Rowan. Seeing him up close, he looked even more handsome. His brown hair and his green eyes shined bright.
The Priests give the revelation and the sermon. A lover doesn't meet somewhere, they meet by chance.
"Rowan, your vows, please." The Priest said to him.
"Grace, I can't put into words the way I know about you. You will become my wife, you hold a position of great consequence in my life, and be together in every way that a husband and a wife are meant to be. I know we not have gone through so much, but I know that whatever life throws us we can conquer it, together. Grace." He has a deep and masculine voice and I watched him, trying hard not to cry. In his vows, he doesn't even mention love me, it's fine because that's the truth, he doesn't love me, but I love you once with all of my heart and you will love me someday.
"Grace."
"Rowan, before you I thought I would never find someone perfectly like you. My whole life has changed for the better, from the first moment I meet you and I wouldn't go back to change anything that happened. You were the person meant for me, I promise not only to listen, but to hear, not only to be honest, but to trust, and not only to love but to be loved. I adore you and I love you with all of my heart" I talk my vows with all of my heart and everything that I have.
His hand was warm around mine, and as he takes my hand in marriage, I want you to understand that my love for you is unconditional.
"Rowan, repeat after me," Said The Priest
"I, Rowan Relios De'Medici, take you, Grace Asteria Grimaldi, to be my wife, to have and to hold from this day forward, for better or for worse, for richer, for poorer, in sickness and in health, to love and to cherish, from this day forward until death does us part," Rowan repeated, said him flatly.
The Priest repeated the same thing to me and I said my part with all of my soul, smiling up at Rowan. The Priest asked for the rings, I briefly let go of his hands to grab Rowan's ring from Eleanor. Rowan did the same with Xavier before turning back to me. With more words, we slipped on each other's rings.
"May these vows and this marriage be blessed. Now, by the powers invested in me by the city of love, Paris - France, I announce you husband and wife. You may now kiss the bride." Said The Priest. And he leaned down and claimed my lips with his.
I wish I were the wife you needed, I wish I were the wife you ask for and you look after. I know that I wasn't the bride you would have chosen for yourself.
Ci vediamo, in my second verse.
