As soon as the creature could see me, I turned tail and ran up the side of the mountain, praying that the creature would pay attention to me and not the people going towards the cave.

The creature roared and started to run towards me, their heavy footfalls shaking the ground underneath their feet. The creature was huge, far taller than me, but I didn't care as my main concern was to make sure that they were safe.

I had no idea why Bane had set up creatures for me to fight, but I didn't care. It was a way for me to practice killing him because that was my main goal. I had no idea who he was, but something in me told me that he was not a good person, and I had a feeling it was because of what he had done.

The beast roared again before charging after me. It ignored the others, focusing on me as I went to get the next piece of the sword.

As soon as we were far away from the place where everyone was camping, I turned towards the beast and snarled, waiting for it to make its appearance.

The thing was huge and white with tusks. It had beady eyes that were red and filled with this anger that I didn't understand. Its coat was super thick, and I had a feeling that I was going to have trouble piercing its thick hide. However, I knew that I had to try. I had to try for the sake of my pack and the people counting on me.

I roared just as loudly as the beast and charged to meet him. I shifted into my half form, not knowing if I would need the extra strength but be able to move some as well. I met the beast in the middle and shoved it back a few steps.

The thing grunted and swiped at me with its paw, and I dodged the attack. It roared again and started to attack me, and I jumped out of its way and tried to figure out its weak spot because I did not need to be away from them for too long.

I grabbed its jaws as it tried to take a bite of me and flung it to the side. I was surprised that I did not have any scratches on me yet, but I knew it would not be long before I did. I just prayed that it wasn't as poisonous as those beasts that I had "faced" at Stone Mountain.

I watched as the beast stood on its hind legs and charged at me, roaring a challenge, and I roared a challenge, too. I charged at the beast and swiped my claw at its underbelly, and it screamed in pain and flung me across the mountain.

I grunted out in pain as I landed, digging my claws into the snow to stop my descent. I had found the thing's weak spot, so all I needed to do now was get to it until I killed it or caused it to run away, the first one being what would probably happen.

The beast snarled and charged at me again, and I took a deep breath and waited. Anger filled its eyes, and they had this murderous look in them as if they would somehow be my undoing.

I took a deep breath and shifted into my human form. I took the swords that Adele had gotten for me and waited as the beast charged at me. I took in a deep breath and waited until it was almost at me before ducking and swiping my swords up to meet its stomach.

The beast roared out in pain and turned around. It charged at me again; its blood warming the snow underneath. It ignored the pain that it was feeling, and I took a deep breath and waited for it to attack again.

There was this... feeling that guided me to the side, helping me spy this... weakness that this creature had. I watched my sword hand move as if this... feeling was controlling me, guiding my body through movements to actually defeat this beast.

I didn't resist as I moved to the side as the beast attacked me and brought my sword down to the spot that I had noticed.

A loud, piercing scream broke through the air as the sword went through the thick hind and pierced its heart.

The beast toppled over as I moved out of the way, dying and turning into a pile of slimy slugs.

"The fuck?" I asked, lowering the sword down and gaining control of my body again. I furrowed my brows in confusion and was about to take a look at them, but a different piercing scream stopped me in my tracks.

I turned in that direction, fighting the urge to continue on my journey, and started to run in that direction.

I had no idea what was happening or who was screaming, but I knew that it was in the direction that I had left everyone.

I just hoped that I wasn't too late to rescue them and prayed that this wasn't a trap. I couldn't afford to lose another "pack" after I had lost mine.
