||Chapter 3||

The car ride to the Police Station was filled with Cass (**I got tired of writing out Cassandra all the time so Haley's nick name for her is Cass**) jamming out to music, and me trying to get it into my head that I might get to talk to my parents, or maybe even meet them. I'm so excited!!!

We got to the police staion and Officer Cameron greeted me with a handshake. We walked back into his office.

"Are you excited that we are going to call your parents today?!" he said. I nodded my head really quickly and laughed.

He started to type a few things in his computer and he said " Ok so your mothers name is Liz Hemmings, and your fathers name is Andrew Hemmings. I'm trying to find their phon- Oh! I found their phone number! Ok, and I found out that they live near here too!" He grabbed the phone next to him and I could literally feel my heart beating out of my chest. He started to dial numbers.

I could hear the ringing and then a faint "Hello" on the other end.

"Hello is Mrs. Hemmings there?" Officer Cameron asked.

I could hear a "Yes, she is speaking."

Officer Cameron looked at me and smiled. "Great. My name is Officer Cameron. I'm sitting in my office with a person I think you have been looking for. Her name is Haley Hemm-"

"OH MY GOSH YOU FOUND MY HALEY!" I could literally hear that one like it was as if the phone was pressed up agianst MY ear and not Officer Cameron's.

"Well actually....she found us. Would you like to talk to her?"

I heard a "Yes! Please. But could you wait one second so I can get my Husband?" I heard shuffling and then she came back 'Ok we're ready'. I sighed, here goes nothing.

He handed the phone over and I gave him a nervous smile. I said "Hello?
