Suddenly, my consciousness woke and I immediately felt something different. My surroundings have changed. I didn't feel the cold of the woods nor the harshness of the grass against my skin, or the pain, there was no pain. I felt the familiar soft, warm surface of my bed, I recognized the dripping sound of my leaky ceiling and the creak of my wooden floors. I am home but something's wrong, my body feels like it's being weight down by a ton a bricks. When I tried to open my eyes I couldn't, when I tried to move I couldn't. It felt like the force of a thousand magnets pulling me down to the bed, sealing my eyelids shut. The more strength I tried to use the more my bones trembled under my skin.
While I continued to struggle the creaking noise in the house deepen almost sounding like a heavy groan like being inside a whale's tummy. The noise was complemented by overwhelming comfortless shrieks and insistent mumbles. Changing flashes of light creep through my shut eyes like shuffling images on a slideshow. Then suddenly I could see them, those unknown terrifying inhuman faces each carrying terror in their eyes, the rapid wild fire everywhere, the menacing bloody thorns, the slithering snakes approaching me in my paralyzed state.
Oh God, I'm in hell.
I tried to scream but I felt the hard grip of an unfamiliar hand with sharp nails around my throat puncturing the skin. It was playfully tracing the flesh down my neck, upon my chest, between my breast and down to my stomach making me quiver. As that happened it felt as if many more hands joined in, too many to count, touching me places I've been touched before, covering every inch of my body, claiming it as theirs. The pleasures that the flesh would grant me are now inducing me horrors and I am just a hostage in my own body as I witness my own assault. And I'm so petrified, I don't know what's going on or what to do other than plead.
Oh God please, please make this stop.
Abruptly I woke up, coming back from the realistically cruel dream, gasping, sweating, looking at my surroundings. And as I did the house made the horrible creaking sound echoing through every room, things for flying off their places and falling into the floor, my bed trembling and the light going to its highest potential making every light bulb in the room explode. I screamed in panic and everything ceased. I've had enough!
"Jude!" --I called out for my husband as I furiously push out the covers and get off my bed.
You see, this whole little Poltergeist shit that just happened has become a daily thing for me since the very first day we moved in this house. The vivid nightmares, our furniture going berserk, the unwanted invisible crowd, everything I have to relieve every night. And I won't endure it any longer.
We were warned about the paranormal activity in this house but my husband being the proud stubborn he is man he wouldn't bow down, what he sees he wants and what he wants he gets so when he came across this beautiful house, this ageless bearer of secrets he wanted it. I still remember the first time he showed me this house, it seemed so elegant, so harmless.
"Don't open your eyes yet," --my husband said sweetly as he drove the car slowly to his big surprise. I had my hands on my eyes barely controlling how eager I was. "Oh come on, Jude. What is it?" --I said excitedly. "All things come to those who wait, lamb" --he jokingly replied. "Judas!" --I complained, he chuckled and I felt the car stop and the ignition off. "Now?" --I asked, still eager. "Almost there," --he said before I heard the car door open and then close. Then my door opened and I felt my husband's soft hands on my shoulders, guiding me out of the car. "OK, ready?" -- he playfully asked and I nodded, "Now".
I uncovered my eyes to discover a beautifully crafted silver gate chained up with a large lock like one of those who would stand guard concealing a fairy tale castle from the ordinary world. I couldn't see much ahead, just trees and unpaved road.
