So I said I was going to do the disclaimer now so here it is :
All characters and previous books belong to Stuart Gibbs, except the ones I made up.
I copyright this plot and ''insert more legal stuff here''. Okay. That's enough. By the way, I am dedicating this chapter to @VenusPieTrap! Also, this chapter will have to be quite short as I am writing this at 9 pm. Sorry! Enjoy chapter 2 and don't forget to vote and comment.
The Principals Office
Nathan Hale Administration Building
March 8
1215 hours
As I trudged my way up the steps, I wasn't sure whether to either hurry up or purposely go slow. There were two reasons that I could get called down to the Principal's office. Neither were very good. Being chosen for a mission was far more likely, as Erica was there and my friends were being called down as well, but missions were usually quite deadly. Getting in trouble, however, didn't involve Erica but it definitely wasn't as dangerous. I was quite sure, however, that it was, in fact, a mission since I hadn't done anything wrong. Or, at least I knew that I hadn't done anything. The Principal who rarely let a thought enter his head, seemed to find neverending reasons to punish me.
When me and my friends reached the top floor we encountered the usual duo of guards that stood in front of the Principal's door guarding him. The walls were lined with camera's that would transport live video to the academy's central control room way down in the maze of underground tunnels that crisscrossed their way under and sometimes over the campus property. A normal and capable person normally wouldn't have required so much security, but the Principal was so abnormal and incapable that he needed it. The agents monitoring the door nodded at us and slid the creaky closet door open. Inside stood 5 people: Erica Hale, and her entire family. It suddenly occurred to me, that while I'd been on multiple missions with Alexander, (Erica's very incompetent father) Cyrus, (Erica's massively talented grandfather) and Catherine Hale (Erica's extremely capable mother), I'd never once seen all four of them together in the same room.
Since the closet was quite small, we were all pressed up against one another which didn't seem very comfortable for them since they hated human contact of any kind from anybody. Besides me and her family. Once everybody got uncomfortable Cyrus started the discussion by handing each of us a manila envelope labeled: For Your Eyes Only: Operation Eagle Strike. My eyes widened. It was always exciting getting an FYEO envelope but I noticed that my friends had become silent in awe of getting their first official FYEO folder. And this one, finally, had an awesome name too. After a brief conversation discussing the consequences of sharing the folders content with anyone, and reminding us to be up at 0400 hours the next day so that we could catch a discreet plane that would bring us to our destination, Catherine sent us all back to our rooms so that we could look at our mission and prepare for the days to come.
All I thought was that it was an extremely short meeting. And the fact that the Principal hadn't protested us leaving at all. That was odd. Then I realized why. The Principal was perfectly happy to see me go on a mission and not see any of us back.
So I hoped that you guys enjoyed this chapter! I will be doing dedications to people that comment constructive feedback and people who encourage me! For today it is OreosAreMySenpai for the tips that he gave me about creating my story. I also wanted to ask if I should do a Percy Jackson truth or dare or if I should do a Percy Jackson and Hunger Games crossover. Make sure to say which you think I should write. I will read over the comments in a few days when the next chapter is posted. Probably on Monday. So anyway, make sure to vote and comment, and I'll see you then- Jarora1.
P.S: That's not my real name, I just can't figure out how to change my stupid username.
