"Mooooommm!!! Where is my bathing suit that we bought yesterday?" I heard Ellie scream as she was tearing through her drawers.
It was a good thing I packed last night or else I would've ended up like Ellie. I've always been the responsible twin. Ever since Dad left about a month and a half ago, Ellie has been having panic attacks, so I guess I shouldn't make fun of her. Dad didn't want to be around us anymore and it left our mom heartbroken. Both Ellie and I new the real reason she was sending us to live with our aunt in Hawaii was because she had to get her life back together. I honestly wasn't thrilled that she was sending us away but there was nothing I could do about it. I couldn't say the same for Ellie though. She wanted a fresh start.
Ellie entered my room out of breath. "Hey can I look in your bag for my bathing suit? I can't find it anywhere."
Not even looking up from my book I said "El, it's on the kitchen table in the plastic bag right where you left it." "Oh. Thanks." She replied looking relieved.
Let me tell you a few things about Ellie. First, she is the kind of person who cries in the movie theater when someone dies in a romantic tragedy. She used to work at a Chinese restaurant and was the only waitress there who had blond hair and blue eyes. She has a hamster named mouse. Ellie was always the prettier one who got lots of attention from the boys at our school. And she and Dad were super close until he lost his job. Ellie and I are very different.
I am the kind of person who has a few friends but they haven't really wanted to hang out with me lately. I watch netflix a lot and I'm always on time for school and appointments. The last thing is I love photography. I love taking pictures and observing them afterward. Ellie would always tell me that she liked them, but i could tell that she didn't really understand why I liked it so much.
"Girls we need to leave for the airport!"
