When we get to the airport, Mom stops us. She hands Ellie and I each a present that is wrapped. We tear open the paper to find a weird looking thermos.
" Uh thanks mom for the cup." I say a little awkwardly.
" Oh silly. It's not a cup. It is a water purification thermos. You know your aunt. She has always been just a little crazy with nature and stuff. Just in case she makes you drink out of a lake, I want you guys to keep it with you. I don't want you to get sick while your in Hawaii!" Mom says.
" Okay Mom, love you. We'll see you in a few months" Ellie says giving her a hug.
" Bye Ma, we will text you when we get off the plane" I say while giving her a small wave.
As Ellie and I roll our suitcases down to check-in, I catch an older man with a cane and a very tall hat looking at me. I glance and Ellie and I turn around to look at him again, and he's gone. I look around as we wait in the crowded line and here a whisper in my ear that said " I know who you are." in an icy cold voice that sent chills down my back.
"WHAT?" I shriek.
All of a sudden I realized I said that really loud. Some people stare at me as I say "Sorry, I thought I saw a bug."
Ellie looks at me like I'm crazy and says " Nel, your embarrassing me. Come on, we have to get to our gate. Do you think you can manage walking for ten minutes without people looking?"
" Haha yeah sorry. I just thought I heard something."
