Chapter 1 ; A new home

I never thought I'd ever be in this office, sitting in this chair,  and answering these questions again. But in some strange sense, I feel relieved.

"Name?"

"Elizabeth severe." I replied.

"Age?"

"15." I mumbled.

Here I was, back at Jp Orphanage ,

Waiting to see if some wonderful family wanted me. I can say since leaving my previous home with my both mentally and emotionally abusive mother, I was happy to be anywhere besides there, the place that was supposed to feel like home,  the place where I was supposed to feel safe , and loved.

"Do you have any hobbies?"

"Nope." I replied.

This was my 4th interview this week with a family that wanted to adopt an orphan. This family looked like the families I watched in movies. The kind that's so happy and full of energy and laughter.

There was a woman, Caucasian, long , silky jet black hair with just a couple strands of hair tucked behind her right ear , her body was short and slim.

Her face had very strong beautiful features , I noticed she had just a few freckles boarding around her nose. She was wearing a black shirt, with blue jeans that looked a little too tight if you ask me.

Along side her was a man I'd say mid thirties, tan, tall and slender, he had creases along side his mouth when he spoke. He had blonde hair and was wearing a navy blue suit,  with a black tie and a beautiful watch  of which brand I was unfamiliar with.

They looked so clean. I sat with my white shirt that was stained with fruit punch from earlier today and my ripped jeans,  that were hand me Downs from my previous mother. My shoes were converse,  dirty and currently suffocating my feet.

My hair a milk-chocolate brown,  reached my lower back, My skin light brown.

"Would you like to join our family?" The woman asked with a beautiful smile on her face.  I shrugged.  Her facial expression quickly changed and looked concerned.

"Your eyes are gorgeous!" Her happy  expression returned.

"Thanks, so are yours." I flushed. This interview had reached the 30 minute mark,  and although my answers were dry and short , her expressions remained amused and interested.

Her mouth made a slight smirk and she picked up her purse and headed towards the orphanage agent. They had a conversation for about ten minutes and the agent started to walk towards me.

Here we go,  I thought.  Another family who doesn't want me. But can I blame them?  I'm not good enough for anyone.

"Elizabeth?"

I looked up.

"Gather your things, hunny we've found you a new home!"
