"And yes, of course, I believe that teamwork is the only way to reach a truly successful workplace. There is no other way. I would label myself as a hardworking, motivated, and determined person. I completely believe that my working here at this presitgious company would be nothing less than a valuable asset. It would definitely be an opportunity like no other." Trixie finished with a perfectly placed smile. Not too big, but not small enough to be considered fake.

The tiny blonde woman who introduced herself as Stefany Miller, the hiring manager, cleared her throat. Trixie hoped she was impressed because not only did she practice the perfect smile in front of a mirror, she also scared her dog by reciting the same speech she took off a book a hundred times.

"That was quite impressive, Miss Williams," Stefany Miller reviewed the resume in front of her, "but it does not look like you have any job experience. At least, for this position."

Trixie shook her head. "Of course I do. If you read closely, you'll see that I excel in organizing and managing relationships, problem solving and finetuning difficult situations in order to produce a solution that compliments all parties involved. All of this and much more in my previous job.  I'm sure a personal assistant needs these very important characteristics to be successful."

Trixie's right leg started bouncing. A steady tap-tap of her heel banging against the wood floor filled the silence that followed. Ms. Miller studied the woman who sat in front of her. Trixie Williams was different. She was dressed and done up much nicer than any of the previous applicants, certainly a lot more confident. But Stefany Miller didn't believe she knew half of what was coming out of her mouth. And that's what made her the perfect candidate.

"Well, Miss Williams, it seems like I have no other choice. After that brilliant arguement and quite possibly the smoothest interview I've ever had so far, it seems you are the best option. Welcome to Phoenix Enterprises. I'll just be a moment, I need to collect all the paperwork for you to sign before you start."

Trixie couldn't help the high-pitched squeal that slipped through her lips as she jumped from her seat. She beamed at Ms. Miller before embracing her in a tight hug.

"I mean," Trixie removed her arms and stuck her hand out. Stefany Miller gave a weak smile and let Trixie pump her hand vigorously for a few long seconds before pulling back.

                "Like I said, a moment."

Trixie nodded, too enwrapped in her success to notice the disdain in the woman's eyes. She had just accomplished the first step to breaking the mold of 'Dumb Trixie'. Now, Trixie had a way to actually help her parents and hopefully make a place for herself in her family's heart. Maybe now they wouldn't look down on her and forget to invite her to family events. Maybe now she wouldn't be a total embarrassment.
