Daisy, will you go with me?

"Donald!" Mickey said, jumping onto his friend's back with only minimal force. "Gah, what is it Mickey? You just about gave me a heart attack!" Donald said, shoving him off. "What do you mean, what is it? Today's the day that you were going to ask Daisy out! You've been putting it off for weeks, and they stop selling tickets on Thursday."

Donald's eyes widened, as if he just remembered that he'd planned to do it at that specific time. "Oh come on, don't tell me you forgot!" He shook his head violently, his eyes going back to normal size. "No, of course I remembered! I already bought her a rose from the flower table down the hall! Also, completely unrelated topic, can I borrow a dollar?"

Mickey sighed, passing over a crumpled bill. "Okay, I'll meet you in the lunchroom at exactly 12:30. Seriously though, you've gotta think about keeping a planner or something, girls like guys who remember stuff like this." Donald nodded, running down the hall and almost into a group of teachers.

Mickey chuckled and shook his head, walking off to his last class before lunch. He still felt a bit burned by the fact that Mortimer asked Minnie out before he could, but he hoped if anything Donald could get the date that he wanted. Who knows, maybe he could even work something out for himself on the night of the semiformal.

About an hour later, Donald stood in the lunchroom, clutching his freshly bought rose nervously. Seeing that he wasn't going anywhere on his own, Mickey steered him over to Daisy's lunch table. "Hey Daisy, Donald has something to ask you." With Daisy and Clara looking up at him with confused looks, Donald had no choice but to hold out the rose to her with his face as red as a tomato.

"Daisy Clifford, will you go to the semiformal with me?" Daisy looked at him, struck dumb for a few seconds before taking the flower offered with a smile. "I'd be honored." Donald looked up, hardly believing that this was happening. "Oh my gosh, thank you so much!" With that he gently kissed her cheek, running off before she could say anything else in a sea of applauding students and staff.

"Well that came out of nowhere, I didn't even think he liked you." Clara laughed, looking at the rose in Daisy's hands. "Me neither." She said with a smile before her phone buzzed, announcing a text. She showed it to Clara a minute later, silently asking her what they should do. Clara smiled though, her expression confident.

"Hey, if Minnie wants to apologize for the other night, I think we should let her. She would do the same for us." Daisy nodded, biting her lip in uncertainty but knowing this was the right thing to do. "You're right, Clara. I think we should apologize for some things too, you know? You spoke the truth, I was being too harsh with her."

"Spoken like a true best friend." Clara said, biting into her turkey sandwich with a smile.

After school, Daisy and Clara walked to Minnie's house, ringing the doorbell. Minnie's dad answered, smiling at the girls when he saw them. "Hello, are you here to see Minnie?" "Yes, Mr. Taylor. Is she home?" Daisy asked, smiling up at the man she'd become well acquainted with over the last few weeks.

"Yes, she's been expecting you. Come on in, and make yourself at home." They thanked him, and walked into the small house where the Taylor family lived. Minnie was sitting on the sofa reading a book, but when she saw her friends she closed it and smiled weakly at them, not sure what she should do to break the ice.

"I wasn't sure whether or not you guys would come." She said hoarsely, and then Clara noticed for the first time that Minnie was wearing pajamas. "Minnie, did you stay home from school today?" She nodded, coughing a few times. "Don't worry, it's just a 24 hour bug, I should be good to go tomorrow."

"Well, that's good." Daisy said, sitting next to her. "School wasn't the same without you today, but I thought the reason we hadn't seen you there was because you were still upset about what happened the other night." Minnie shook her head, her eyes wide. "No, that's not it at all. Sure, I was angry when we fought that night, but you two were the first people who talked to me after I moved here. Why would I give that up over a disagreement?"

The two girls smiled widely at this, they'd missed Minnie so much over the last few days. "Best friends forever." They all hugged, laughing happily. "Hey, do any of you have dresses for the semiformal yet?" Minnie and Clara both shook their heads at what Daisy said, neither of their families had very much money so they planned to probably look at what a thrift store had or something.

"Well, maybe I could lend you something out of my closet. Me and my mom just went dress shopping for the dance, and we narrowed it down to three choices. We couldn't decide which one would best match my date, so we decided to get them all." Minnie clapped her hands, feeling much better now that her friends were here.

"That's a great idea! Thank you so much, Daisy! Were you two able to get dates yet?" Daisy nodded. "Yeah, Donald Anselmo asked me out today during lunch." Minnie smiled. "Aw, that is so cute! What about you, Clara?" She shook her head, but still looked happy. "No, but Mr. Sid asked if I could sing a few songs there."

Daisy and Minnie were shocked, they didn't know Clara could sing! "What songs will you be singing?" Clara thought about it for a second, then pulled out a piece of paper from her pocket. Her friends could see that something was scribbled on it in blue ink.

"Well, since I'll just be singing the songs for the slow dances; I've been thinking of doing 'Kiss the girl' by Samuel Wright, 'Tale as old as time' by Angela Lansbury, 'If I never knew you' by Judy Kuhn and 'We are one' by Matthew Broderick. The last one will be a daddy-daughter dance for when everyone comes to pick their kids up."

Minnie and Daisy squealed at Clara's choices, all of those were popular love songs that were sure to be a big hit. "I can't wait!" Minnie exclaimed, and her friends agreed with her. This was going to be the best night, and hopefully set some things back on track.

A/N Before anyone gets confused, in this universe the voice actors who sang these songs in the Disney movies are singers who released these songs in albums. I know it might make more sense to have the characters be the ones who exist in this story, but it didn't really work out that way. Thank you for understanding.
