Ocean Eyes

My eyes widened.

" Y-you can talk?" I stuttered out.

" I think so," he said.

My lips parted.

What the frick...

He started walking towards me.

I pointed the pencil at him again.

" Don't you dare come any closer!" I said shakily.

He stopped walking, and I saw a flash of pain cross his face.

" I'm not going to hurt you, Aria," he said softly.

I looked at him with caution.

His face was filled with sincerity.

I sighed.

What could possibly go wrong?

A lot of things. Things I tried not to think about.

I sat down on the bed, keeping an eye on the merman.

He sighed; relieved with my reaction.

He better not try anything.

"Who are you? What are you?" I asked, question after another.

I know I should be running. Calling the police. Just thinking of how the hell I can get away from him.

But for some reason, I felt weirdly safe around him.

He sat down on my desk chair.

I noticed the black t-shirt he wore, covering his muscles.

They still peaked out though.

He wore black jeans, ripped by his knees.

" I'm a merman," he started.

His voice was a deep melodic tune.

" No shit, Sherlock," I said quietly, trying to cover up my confusion.

He laughed. It was a nice sound; a deep and velvety noise coming from his throat.

I looked at him with interest.

He looked so human; carefree. Not the creature that could kill someone in mere seconds, and lure prey to their doom.

His eyes met mine, and I noticed something different churning in the two oceans.

An aged weariness to them, showing me through the many things he went through.

"My kind has been on this Earth much longer than humans. We have powers humans wished they had, and possess eternal lives." he continued.

He wasn't looking at me.

He was walking around my desk looking at the pictures of memories that I will forever hold on to.
