Recap:

At some point we were talking about college and stuff so i thought i could ask her about Luke. Not that I care, i was just curious and i wanted to find out more about him and his mysterious behavior because it really started bothering me.

''Speaking of Mr. Fitchmanns class, do you know this dude named Luke? He's in some of our classes too'' i asked hesitantly.

''Luke what?'' she seemed a bit worried.

''Brooks, Luke Brooks i think''

Katy rolled her eyes and looked at me almost in shock. ''Why are you asking?''

Chapter 8

Well shit, i thought. Maybe i shouldn't ask her anything more about Luke.

''Jesus Kate calm down'' i laughed a bit. "I'm just curious, thats all." i lied.

''Adri please tell me the truth if something's going on with this guy. He might be dangerous''

I took a sip of my hot coffe. Her words made me think about every single weird thing that happened with Luke. I was right, he was a really strange person and this made me more curious about him. I'm a really curious person anyway so i could find more about him on my own if Katy wouldn't tell.

''Adri? Hello?! Are you even listening to me?"

''Yeah... yes, sure i was just thinking about something" i shook my head.

''So tell me, whats wrong with Luke?''

''Well it's ju-'' My phone went off. I had a text message.

From: Unknown -

''And don't tell anyone.''

My eyes widened and i gasped. I knew now, it was Luke for sure. But how? Katy noticed my reaction.

''What? What's wrong?'' she was worried.

''Nothing... One of my friends back in Cali just told me something terrible." I lied again even if i hate lies. They tear people apart, destroy everything thats keeping them close for forever.

''Okay but tell me about Luke now, we don't have much time left, it's getting late.''

''Nothing's wrong with him, i just saw him around several times and i was just wondering because he gives me some intense glances sometimes.'' i chuckled to make her calm down a bit.

''Well.. i don't know, just don't approach him so much, i'm being serious. People know him for his strange behavior and it's like he's been forever in this college, which is surprisingly strange too.''

It's like Kate knew something about him, about his past that she didn't want to share with me. Something that many people from this town knew too, but never talked about it. Something mysterious. Something i would find out, on my own. Scared, or not.

''What do you mean? Is there something else i need to know?''

''Not really... He's just weird, that's all. That's why people push him away in some way"

''Anyway, let's go home now, i'm tired'' i picked up my stuff.

''Yeah sure, let's go!" She nodded.

Driving home was fun, we were singing ridiculously while listening to random songs on the radio and laughing about old funny stories we had to tell. Once we were almost outside my house, she told me to take care because it was raining heavily by then and said a storm was coming. I grabbed my bags, hugged Katy and then we said goodbye. I quickly walked past my yard to my front door since i didn't had an umbrella and i was trying to keep my hair out of my face as it was really windy. As soon as i unlocked my door, i threw my shopping bags on the floor and jumped on my big sofa as usual, checking my socials. After a while i decided to take a nice shower and cooked something really quick for dinner. I was doing the dishes until i noticed that the storm was so strong that my shutters started banging so i went upstairs and closed them.

I was really tired but not sleepy, at all. I laid down on the couch in my living room and turned on the tv to watch a movie since i couldn't sleep. I was constantly checking my phone, and the time. It was about 11 pm. I continued watching one of my favourite movies until suddenly my tv shut off. I noticed that all the lights were turned off too so i stood up and looked outside to check what was going on. The whole street was covered with a tons of water from the heavy rain, It was still really windy and there was no electricity. I checked my phone again, it was almost 12 am, i was kinda scared now, but curious too. I lit up some candles and took a seat at a stool in my kitchen. I was on my phone, waiting for the blackout to pass until i heard something from upstairs. My heart skipped a beat and i was worried but i didn't really pay attention because it was noisy anyway because of the storm. I scrolled through my contacts and was about to call Katy to talk a bit but a louder noise made me jump a bit and i dropped my phone on the floor. It turned off so i had to turn it on again and i noticed that it was 12 o clock. I gasped. I knew something was about to happen, maybe upstairs. I had a feeling someone was watching me again. I really didn't know what to do. Should i go upstairs and check if everything is okay?  Should i just stay here and wait till it's over?

I stood up and went to the front door to check my alarm system but it was shut down, of course. This made me more anxious. I took a candle and decided to go upstairs. I couldn't just stay here, scared, in my own house. I needed to know if anything was wrong. I was also keeping in mind that i was probably too scared because of those anonymous messages which were probably from Luke, but i had to stay calm and face it. I was in front of my stairs, about to go upstairs. It was pitch dark. I checked my phone, it was still 12 am. Like time was frozen. This one minute seems like eternity, i thought. But i also noticed that there was no service for some strange reason. I tried to text Katy but once i opened my messages, i saw that those anonymous ones where gone. Like somebody deleted them. But i didn't... I gasped and i was shaking. Should i go upstairs now?
