Sup, sisters ~ It's Mari! Hi, how are ya? (I've watched them too much lol) I hope you enjoy!

So, JNR and the rest of team RWBY shipped you and Oscar. '(Ship/name),' the called it. At first, you thought nothing of it, but then you two somehow found yourself in situations you couldn't even begin contemplate. Suddenly, you found yourself not getting into any of the said situations for two days. While this should've been a reliever, you were ultimately worried, and somewhat annoyed. And boy oh boy, did this situation make up for it.
"Okay!" Ruby called out from the door. "You two begin making dinner and we'll go out shopping because we just so happened to run out of some ingredients!"
By two, she means me and Oscar. In the kitchen. In the house. Alone. Seriously, did it need that many people to find whatever they needed? Not even finding Boyfriend Finding Squad needed that many people. Due to me and Oscar not being forced into awkward situations, we haven't talked at all. Maybe it was my way of enjoying the break and his way to avoid the situations. Either way, this would be awkwardest.
"Su-" I called back.
"Okay bye!" The childish redhead squealed before shutting the door abruptly, leaving a loud noise and a reason for Oscar to flinch.
I raised a brow at the teen's excitement, "Girl must love her casserole, geez."
"Y-Yeah," Oscar stuttered back timidly.
The poor boy stood by the doorway, looking at his hands and closing himself off. In concern, I turned to him but said nothing to make him uncomfortable further. An awkward silence fell upon us - until Oscar started mumbling to himself. Ozpin, maybe.
Sighing silently, I walked past Oscar and opened the cupboard. Pasta! Bingo! I hopped up, grabbing the pasta and checking the expiry date. Instead, I found a stip of paper with writing in red pen sellotaped to it.
"The hell?" I couldn't help but question out loud.
Oscar must've heard because he came over nervously. "What is it?"
I passed the pasta to him. He paused for a moment, processing it, and reading it again.
" 'Imagine being paid for being cute?' "
We both fell silent and I could sense another awkward phase coming - I wasn't having that.
I snorted. "You'd be rich, kid." I gently bumped my shoulder against his.
His cheeks grew red as he stuttered. "I-I...uhm," He fumbled with his words. "Shut up, Oz," He grumbled.
I laughed, taking the pasta and peeling off the paper. "Okay, pasta's fine. Hey, how about a vegetarian casserole, for the sake of non-meat eaters."
"S-Sure," I could've sworn his face had gotten redder.
Next were canned tomatoes. We didn't know where those were, so we were forced to search the whole kitchen. How could I have been so dumb? Of course, there were more of these messages.
" 'If I could re-arrange the alphabet, I would put it as 'I N U'. What is this?"
I don't think I was supposed to hear that, but regardless I smiled, "Better get working on the alphabet then."
Though I wasn't turned to him, I could imagine his face, " 'Your beauty rivals the sun and makes the ocean salty!' " He blurted out.
My cheeks reddened as a large grin formed on my face. "Are you summer? Because you're hot." I winked at him, mimicking the little picture of a winking Yang on the paper.
Eventually, we found the canned tomato. Though we needed four, we had more than enough. And with it, numerous of these little messages. I opted we take six each and read them. Here we are now.
Oscar gulped as he lifted the can up and read the message. His avocado eyes widened as his whole face reddened. Before I knew it, the can had been thrown back into the cupboard and shut in.
"Erm, you good?" I asked, though a dumb question. The kid had probably just been scarred.
He nodded profusely as I lifted one up. " 'Remind me the next time I go to the museum I can't hold your hand.' "
"Huh?" Oscar tilted his head in confusion.
" ' The signs say I can't touch masterpieces.' " I set down the can, feeling my cheeks tingle as I looked up. "Lucky for you I'm a rebel."
He chuckled, rubbing the back of his head as he looked away. "Guess it's my turn. E-Erm, 'you must be religious because you answered all my prayers."
I giggled, resting my hand on my cheek. "W-Wow, these are really getting to me."
"Y-Yeah, i-it's pretty weird."
Another silence fell on us, this time comfortable. I followed Oscar's gaze to the time, 15 minutes had already passed.
"Maybe we should read them will cooking, the others will be back soon."
I nodded in agreement, and soon we were back at it. With these messages, of course. We both had our equal share of blushes and giggles. Soon enough, the casserole was in the oven (which was strange since the others left for supposedly missing ingredients). We were currently by the counters gathering the vegetables to put them away.
" 'If you were a flower, I would pick you, '" Oscar read of a carrot.
"Hmph! So would I." I answered shamelessly as I picked up a red pepper. "Hey cutie, ' If nothing lasts forever, ' " I paused, turning to the farm boy next to me. Our eyes met. " 'Will you be by nothing?' "
That one was different. There was so much emotion behind it. From me.
It hit me, his reaction. He just... stared and said nothing. My heart stung as my eyes widened. I turned away and heading to the fridge. I was spitting every single curse word I could think of in my head.
"I would."
I dropped the peppers.
"H-Huh?" I stuttered, turning towards him.
He came closer. He looked at the ground before meeting my eyes. "I would."
"Oscar..." I whispered, my heart racing as my thought became muddled. Everything just disappeared and it was just me and him. Me and him.
He took my hand, cradling it lovingly in his. "Y/n," He whispered back, and soon we were close, very close.
"HAVE THEY KISSED YET?!"
"NORA!"
Remember those words I was thinking about before? Every. Single. One. Left. My. Mouth.
