It was a shame that Alyssa decided not to date Grace. She had given herself a makeover over the summer and she was feeling herself ( literally and metaphorically of course). Grace told herself that she was over the girl and decidedly ignored all of Alyssa's calls and messages. Not that she massaged often, Alyssa had a reputation for losing her phone or forgetting her charger in unfortunate places. Or maybe she just didn't care anymore, but it was certain that Grace was never going to speak to Alyssa again if she could help it.

Grace got ready as usual and slumped her backpack over her shoulders. This year was going to be different, she was going to pass all of her classes with an B or higher  and not focus on petty relationships.

"Just live your whole year as if it's No Nut November," Sophie had snapped her one night after a late night session of ice cream and Netflix. And Grace decided she was going to start over when her cats started to give her a funny look every time she went to the freezer.

When she got on the bus she noticed a strange hush of whispers from the other high school students who were regularly rambunctious assholes.  She noticed that in the very back of the bus, where she usually sat, there was a girl with green hair and pentagram earrings.

" What? Why are you staring at me?"

" You're in my seat."

She sat up straighter, " Okay first of all, there's other seats still open, second I got here first bitch, and third..." she looked Grace up and down.

" You could always sit on me."

"What?"

" With me, you could always sit with me..."

The girl moved to the inside of the seat and patted the leather beside her. " Sooo you gonna sit here?"

"I'm good actually. I don't want to sit next to the crazy Satan girl"

Yes she did, but she would never admit it.

" Wicca."

" Bless you?"

" No, I didn't  sneeze, dumbass. I said ' wicca'. Look it up."

"Whatever. I'll just sit somewhere else."

By the end of fourth period, Grace had spent too much time in Mrs. Wood's English class and not enough time in Mr. O's music class. In other words, it was utterly horrible. And to make it worse she had to sit directly behind the new Witch girl and across from Alyssa in Chemistry.

The only good thing she got out of the day was Mrs. Wood's story about how she was friends with Steve Jobs and new that he was secretly gay when he created Apple and that's why the logo was once rainbow.  Of course, she swore on her one vocal cord that the story was 100% true, so how could Grace think otherwise.

Anyway, the witch girl, now known as Emily, was standing in the lunch line in front of her.

" Jesus Christ, why can't you just stay away."

Emily turned around and smiled, " Oh look, it's bus bitch!"

" What the Hell is your problem?"

" Nothing, Bitch is the highest form of praise."

"Well, it's not when you've just met someone! You don't even know my name!"

" Fine. My name is Emily, what's yours?"

Grace rolled her eyes at the stupid formal greeting.
" Grace."

" Well it's nice to meet you, Grace. But I think I'll stick to Bus Bitch."

" Whatever." Grace turned and started walking towards the band room, not even bothering to get food. The orange chicken was nasty anyway.

" Hey where are you going?"

"None of your business, witch."

"Aw thanks! But seriously, where are you going. I want to eat somewhere where the stupid boys won't bother me."

"What do you mean? I agree that the boys are stupid, but what do they want with you."

Emily sighed, " They're all assholes trying to sex me, because they all think they're worthy. Which, they are not."

"That's not surprising to me at all. I wish you luck with that."

Again, she turned to leave but Emily pulled her back by her jacket collar.

" Wait, you're seriously not gonna let me eat with you?"

" Nope," Grace kept walking without looking at Emily, " I've got my own problems."

" Like What?"

" There's this girl Alyssa— wait why am I telling you this?"

Emily jogged to catch up with her. " What if I pretend to be your girlfriend to make her Jealous?"

Grace stopped and turned to look at her with disbelief , " Who said anything about dating her? What if I'm not gay?!"

" But you are right," She smirked evilly.

"what? How did you—"

" It's kinda obvious, plus you have a bi pin on your jacket..."
Grace stood dumbfounded and Emily kept on walking.

"So where are we going, honey?"

" the band room..."

So much for focusing on school this year...
