Noah had just pulled into the parking lot of his new apartment. He stepped out of the car and was immediately hit with the salty ocean air. He went to the back of his truck to grab his boxes. It was hard to believe he'd just left his old life completely. He was 21 and ready to live his very own life. Honestly, he didn't even know why he decided to move here. The city was starting to get too routine for him, maybe that's his reasoning for moving. Noah grabbed his boxes and got settled into his apartment; he began to unpack some of the stuff he needed the night. Noah went to brush his teeth when he took a look in the mirror.

"gosh had I looked like that all day," the boy thought to himself.

Noah had long dark brown hair and fair skin. His hair was so long he usually just kept it up in a bun. As he looked in the mirror, he realized how awful he looked. The long car ride here did not do him justice. his hair was all messed up from sitting in the car so long, and his skin was starting to break out. He brushed his teeth and tried to fix his appearance a little. Then went to blow up his air mattress so he could sleep. He hadn't had time to set up any of his furniture. Well, he didn't know how to set up any of it. The instructions just gave him a headache, and he always ended up building it wrong anyway.

As Noah tried to drift off to sleep, he realized how quiet it was here in this small beach town on the coast of Oregon. There weren't loud noises coming from his window like in the city. N cars honking or driving past it was just quiet. It was making Noah uncomfortable, so he grabbed his phone and started playing some music. After that, he quickly went to sleep.

He woke up at around 9 am. Noah kept unpacking some of his things and then went to get himself ready. He was going to explore his new town.

As he stepped outside of his apartment, he looked around and saw how gloomy it was. He looked at the forecast, and it said it was supposed to rain for the next week. That didn't surprise him much though. He had read that the town is usually covered in a storm cloud or just gloomy. It rained a lot there.

Noah started to walk around the town. He came across a little cafe in the middle of town. From what he could tell it was one of the only restaurants in town. He decided to go in and have a look around.

He stepped into the cafe and was immediately greeted by a cheery employee.

"hi! welcome to daisies and roses!" the lady said to him

she looked about his age, she was relatively short and rather skinny. She had freckles that were sprinkled across her nose and cheeks. She also had pastel pink hair that was cut short into a bob.

"Hey, are you new here I don't think I've seen you around before," she asked.

"Oh, um yeah I just moved here yesterday,"

"Woah! That's neat we never get new people here." she explained

"oh! I almost forgot to introduce myself; I'm Paige."

"that's a nice name."

"thanks! my mom said it was my dad's idea to name me Paige," she said excitedly

"they named me after the family goldfish." she let out a slight chuckle and then proceeded to lead Noah to an empty booth.

"I assume you don't know anyone since you just moved here," Paige stated.

"Yeah, I've been unpacking and getting all my stuff together."

"Well, how about we be friends. It would suck to live in this gloomy place without any friends," she added

"sure!" Noah agreed to her suggestion. She was right, he didn't know anyone here, and it would suck to stay here all alone without any friends.

"I'll go ahead and take your order, after that my shift will be about over and ill come join you."
