I awoke in a comfy bed. Compared to the dark rooms they had been leaving me in, I was content. I then remembered what had happened. I had never thought anything of it. I thought he just really enjoyed talking as well as I did. I never would have thought it would have brought me here.
I went in to get some new sneakers and some cute sandals. I went upstairs to where they were in the store. Like usual, there was a worker up there. "Hey, how are you?" The guy was heavier set. He had gorgeous emerald eyes, and mocha hair that was nearly in a bowl cut. He wasn't dressed very well either, but he was nice. So it seemed. "I'm good! How about you?" He smiled and showed his perfect teeth. I was definitely jealous. "Is there anything I can help you with today?" I smiled back. "No, I'm just looking around to get some new shoes. If you're not busy though, you can talk! I'll end up talking to myself anyways." It wasn't a lie. I'm not a crazy. I just need needed a conversation sometimes. "Well, I'll be glad to talk and assist you with anything you need!" He was super sweet! Nerdy, but sweet! "Thanks!"
We talked about different things. We talked about favorite colors. Mine was and still is blue. His was maroon. He was in law school and I told him about how I worked in a daycare. I told him how I'd always wanted to be a cosmetologist. He told me that he was sure one day my dreams would come true. He was so nice to me, and actually helped me find quite a few cute shoes. I ended up buying four pairs instead of two. He even gave me discount!
"I'll see you around hopefully!" He said smiling. "Maybe so! Thank you for everything! Have a good day!" Nick seemed like your average nerdy guy. Who would have thought this could have been avoided if I would've of came in that day.
"Maybe you should get a shower." Nick said, startling me out of my thoughts. As much as I did not want to listen to him, I had been sweating and did not smell good whatsoever. So, I decided to go ahead and listen. I took about an hour. I exfoliated, shaved, and moisturized. I felt disgusting with him touching me. I did not even wanna lay eyes on him or Jase. I had not really seen Nick. He always had his face covered other than his eyes and mouth.
Still, how did I not recognize him? I curled my hair, and done full makeup with a wine colored lipstick. I went to the closet and put on a white dress. It came up right above the knee. I took a deep breath and decided it was best for now to try to be nice. Ha. I worked so well the last time. Not.
"Will you come out now?" I heard nick say. "Man. Give her time. It takes women forever to get ready." I heard Jase say. It made me chuckle, but then my heart began racing knowing I would have to face them once again. I took a deep breath and opened the door.
"Wow. You look..." "stunning. Even I'm impressed." Nick began, but Jase finished. Nick gave him a glare. "Let's go to the living room, beautiful. I've got a surprise for you. My heart began racing. I can't even begin to imagine what I'm about to face. I began shaking, and tried hard to cover it. I wanted to be strong. I followed them into the living room, and Nick took my hand and sat me down on the couch. Jase went down the hallway. Why? I don't know. I guess he wasn't up Nick's ass all the time after all.
"Ready?" He smiled. No. "Yes." I said in a whisper. He slowly took off his mask and I gasped. "What?! That is not you. No way." He was a supermodel now. He has lost weight and obviously worked out everyday. His chubby face, was now defined. His mocha hair faded and the top was longer. He ran his finger through his hair and it was perfectly styled. "It's me. The one and only. You like all the changes I made for you? I knew you wouldn't want me the way I looked two years ago, so I done whatever I had to do until I thought you would love me." He may be hottie now, but obviously his staircase does not go all the way up, if you haven't figured that out already.
What do I do now? All I could do is stare at him and wonder. How does someone this hot manage to be this crazy?
He smiled really big and out of nowhere got down on one of his knees beside the couch where I was sitting. "Jenna, will you marry me?"
