Chapter 7

*Chelsea's POV*

I changed out of the clothes I wore for cheering try outs and put on my outfit from earlier. I put on some deodorant, sprayed on some perfume, and brushed my hair. I grabbed some mint gum out of my purse and unwrapped it, putting it in my mouth. 

I gathered my things and walked out to see Sam standing against the brick wall with a girl. I looked closer to see that they were clearly kissing and the girl was none other than the Lauren Zale. 

I cleared my throat causing them to both look over. When Sam saw me he took his hands off of Lauren's waist and tried to hug me. 

"Chels, I'm so sorry this is-" He started but I cut him off.

"Save it Sam. Everyone told me you were a player." I shot. I turned around and walked out to my car. I didn't need him or any drama. I needed to focus on being a great captain to the squad and my grades. 

I decided to stop at Chick-Fil-A on the way home because it was about 6:30 and I hadn't eaten anything since lunch at 11:45. Before getting dinner, I stopped at target to pick up some new shampoo and mascara. 

I got a text from Gilinsky as I was walking to Target.

From: Gilinsky

Hey Chels what are you up to?

To: Gilinsky

Grabbing a few things at Target then stopping at Chick-Fil-A. Why, whats up?

From: Gilinsky

I wanted to go swimming at your place with JJ and Madison

To: Gilinsky 

I'll be home in 25 minutes.

I found my things and paid for them and decided I wouldn't sit inside to eat so I just did the Drive Thru. 

I ate my food on the way home so I wouldn't have to make them wait any longer or feel bad that I didn't get them anything. Just as I finished I pulled into the driveway.

I grabbed all of my bags and walked up to my room. I picked out a black strapless bikini top and light purple bottoms. I took my make up off so it wouldn't smear when I went in the water and texted Gilinsky to come over. I went to my bathroom and found my Vera Bradley towel and made my way outside to see Gilisnky, JJ, and Madison coming in the gate. 

"CHELSEA!" JJ said in a girly voice coming over to give me a hug.

"Hi JJ," I said back.

"Congrats, Chels! I forgot to tell you earlier. You ran out of the locker room really fast." Madison said.

"Oh... Yeah.." I said awkwardly. 

"Chels, everything okay..?" Madison asked noting the weird tone of my voice. 

"Yeah, it's all good." I replied.

"Bull shit Chels, what happened?" Gilinsky questioned.

I had to tell them because there was no way Gilinsky would let it go. 

"Sam asked me if I wanted to go get some dinner with him at the end of practice. I said yes and we both went to the locker rooms to change. When I came back I saw him pressed up against a wall making out with Lauren." I said with a catch in my voice. As much as I hated to admit it, I really was starting to like Sam.

Madison came over and gave me a comforting hug. 

"Don't worry about it, honestly. Sammy doesn't like her. But since you took her spot as captain she's probably pissed at you and wanted to get revenge. Did Sam try to tell you what happened?" Gilisnky said

"Y-Yeah but I wouldn't let him because I thought he'd come up with some bull shit excuse." I explained. 

"Trust me, Sam hasn't shut up about you since you got here, he doesn't like her. You should call him or something." JJ said. 

I nodded and told them I would later and jumped in the pool.

We played chicken with me on Gilinsky's shouler and of course we won against JJ and Madison. We fooled around a bit more and then decided it was getting cold out so we dried ourselves out and went inside. We went  down to the basement to play pool. It was me and Madison against JJ and Gilinsky because I swore that no matter who I played against I would win. But I was very wrong. They beat us so bad. 

After watching a movie on netflix it was around 12:30 am and they all left. 

I decided to text Sam. 

To: Sam 

I'm sorry I reacted like that early. I'm having the Crew over tomorrow for a party for Labor Day, hope to see you there. (:

Then I sent out a text to everyone in The Crew, including Sam, and told them about it along with the details. I set my phone down and got ready for bed.
