The sunlight begins peaking through the blinds as your eyes slide open. The noise and smell of breakfast comes down the aisles. The intercom sounds to "good morning all passengers; breakfast is being served and we will then begin our decent."
The breakfast: croissant, orange juice, egg on toast, topped off with a coffee which Chim insisted you drank. Eaten and collected just before the plane begins to land. (IN CAMBODIA!)
Is this where we will stop or is there more to the journey. "Chim it's so hot" you say smiling as you step out side the aircraft onto Cambodian soil.
"Thought you'd like that" he smiles as he leads you through baggage reclaim, passport security and out into the main part of the airport.
You see a smartly dressed driver with 'PARK' written on his sign. You and jimin follow him to his car and begin the short journey to somewhere you've never been before. When in the fancy style car Jimin loads the large travellers backpacks with waters that the driver had provided.
"We have arrived in market Square Mr and Mrs Park." Announces the driver. Market? I love markets. Jimin hands the man some money out of a wad of money I was not expecting him to have. Jimin then helps you out of the car and into a gorgeous village. Market stalls and tuk tuks busying up the streets.
"Isn't it beautiful - I can't wait to show you everything." Jimin says before looking around strangely. "Excuse me," Jimin asks a twelve year old looking boy, "my wife and I are new and need someone to show us around" the boys eyes light up, "would 20$ buy us enough of your time?" The boy smiles joyously and enthusiastically comes to grab your hand.
"Good morning Miss, my name is Devi." He smiles at you and you feel another person come grab your other hand. A much younger girl, of about age 8. "This is my sister Chan. Which means moon and I can tell she likes you already Miss." You smile at the cuteness of the two as they begin walking you in and out of the stalls. Pausing to show you each and every crevasse. The colours and variety within the market are astonishing. You smile the whole tour as Jimin watches you enjoy yourself. Jimin seems to buy supplies along the route. Unique fruits, premade breads and pastries and the two tour guides take you to a fabric store where the both of them greet the lady serving the stall.
"Miss, this is our mother" they say dragging you towards that stall.
"Chom Reap Sour" you say as you greet them using Sampeah which is the respectful way to greet in Cambodia. The women returns the greeting and comes from behind the stall as the young two speak to her in Khmer. She speaks back and walks up to you.
"My mother says you're a very beautiful." Devi translates for you. The mother puts her hands out and you place yours within hers. She gazes at you. And then to Jimin.
"You are father?" The mother says in broken English. Father? You smile.
"Husband." He says as he comes to you placing his hand on the lower part of your back.
"No." The mother says as she lets go of your hand that was closest to Chims. She signals for Jimins hand but doesn't hold it, she merely guides it to your stomach. "You are child's father?" Child? Baby?
"Our mother is a psychic she knows you're with child." The younger girl explains.
"I'm not pregnant." You smile at Chim. "Am I?"
"I mean you could be" Jimin smiles at you as the mother begins talking the boy again.
"Yes Miss you're pregnant. Mother asks if she can touch?" You nod and the mother approaches you. She speaks for almost a minute, you and Chim in amazement of what is happening.
"It's a boy Miss." The boy finally translates.
"Wow that's amazing. Thank you so much." You say smiling.
"Would you like to have a look at my mother's fabrics they're beautiful?" Chan says as she begins draping a fabric over her shoulder. These are all so beautiful.
"Chan" the mother says and the daughter rushes to her mother's assistance. The girl clambers behind the stall as if ordered to and pulls out this gorgeous blue fabric which the girl begins to dance around the alley with. The brother begins to tap his feet and sing a song as the girl twirls around your feet. "This fabric for mother's" the mother says to you. "Give you luck for baby." She says smiling at you.
You smile as the girl then begins to pull you into the dance with her and a few other young boys and girls assist Devi in the singing. The dance goes on and whilst you dance with Chan, Devi heads to Jimin. "I can show you a nice place to eat if you would like. Cheap but local food." He says which Chim knows this would be something you'd like.
"Will you ask your mother how much for the fabric?" Chim asks.
"She won't ask for any money because it's mother to mother." Devi says. "You are good people and as a psychic she's a big believer in how do you say it. Karma." Devi explains.
"Okay well, take this, then we can go treat you and Chan at this food place?" Jimin says whilst handing the child $50. "Take this to your mother now so you don't lose it." You see him hand the boy the money then ruffle the boys hair and you think about how good a man you've found yourself.
Jimin comes to you and wraps the fabric around your body like a scarf and the two of you follow to where you will eat this evening. The journey only takes ten minutes or so but you end up at a small looking hotel with a awning out the front over the restaurant looking room. "Is this where we will be eating?" Jimin asks. Devi smirks and shakes his head.
The two lead you inside and up three flights of stairs and out of a big metal door. Out onto the roof of the building. The blue sky pours light over the city. The view is beautiful. You can see all the alley ways for miles along all sides of the hotel. Whilst the two of you are in awe. The two children drag out a table and two chairs from a room further down the building. "This is our fathers hotel. He will cook for you whatever you would like. We thought you'd like the view." They explain.
"It's beautiful." You say as the boy leads you to sit at the table.
"What would you recommend" Jimin asks the pair.
"What do you like to eat?" The girl asks.
"Meat, noodles, most things, Y/N doesn't eat fish." Jimin says. The pair look at each other grinning as if they know something we don't.
"We know exactly what to get you." The run down stairs excited.
You look around in amazement of what surrounds you. Jimin to gawping at you as you amuse yourself.
"Jimin today has been amazing." You say to him as you stare across the table deeply into his eyes.
"Do you want to know the best bit..." he says as he puts your hands in his. "We're not even there yet."
