3rd POV
A tiny strip of sunlight shines through the trees. Leah slowly rolls down her window, feeling the wind. Birds flies through the sky chirping. There it was, Leah's childhood home, Camp Cocoa Puff. Sure it has a weird and funny name, but this place was still Leah's favorite.Carefully, Leah step out of the cab as leaves crunches around her feet. Nothing has really changed, the scenery was still beautiful, you could still hear the birds, and there it was, the swing. The swing has brought back Leah's old memories, the day when Liam and Miley was still by her side.
They used to spend their time playing at the swing, swim in the lake, and sneaking into the kitchen to get ice cream at night. Now that Leah was at camp again, she realized how much she had miss them.
Leah
After looking around for a bit, I decided to head in. The entrance was in a round wooden shape with flowers and vine crawling around it. The plants seems dead and the wood had rotted, a lot. The grass inside grew up to a little under my knees, it looks like it hasn't been touch for a few centuries , if that wasn't bad enough, there was trash everywhere. I mean everywhere.Getting a bit light headed, I decided to head to the cabin, hoping that it would be better. Oh boys. The paint was peeled in this conner, then that conner, literally every corner. On the bunks were old t-shirts, toothbrush, and junks from past campers.
What is happening? The camp seems to have changed a lot over the last 12 years. (The camp closed not that long after I left) It was a long time, but I had hope that camp Cocoa Puff was still welcoming campers, still open to kids everywhere.
Now, the place was trash and there is not even a person in sight, no one. What am I gonna do now? I had been so excited to meet the campers, doing the activities again, and the best part, the camp song and marshmallows at the campfire.
I needed to know what was going on, so I decided to look through the internet, finding numbers of people who might have known what happened.
A year of phone calls later, I learned a few things. First of all, the place has been abandoned for the last 6 years. Sometimes people visit a few time to set up a small camp or use the outhouse, but nobody has ever tried to rebuild it.
I suddenly felt my body shivering. I has been standing in the wind for about an hour now. It's time to grab Starbucks before returning.
Sitting at a table near the window I started to think. The camp I grew up in was now a trash hole and I couldn't even think about what to do. I have a whole summer, I need to do something
Suddenly I noticed somebody settling at the table next to me. A familiar face looked up from her phone. There she was, Miley. Miley has changed a lot, but at the same time she hasn't change at all.
Her hair was was still curly flowing down her shoulders. Although instead of all of hair being brown the tip of her hair was dyed pink.
She looked at me with her chestnut eyes looking as surprised as me.
"Leah? Is that you?"
I grabbed my drink, then moving over to her table before hugging her. It was great meeting her again! After all the horrible things that I found at camp Cocoa Puff, the sight of Miley has made me a lot more happy.
By the time we finish catching up, the employees were slightly annoyed so we decided to leave.
"So you're saying that camp Cocoa Puff is trashed and destroyed?" Miley asked in shock.
I nodded. "I couldn't believe it either, but that's the truth"
We then walked a bit in silence as we make the unspoken agreement to head for the Orange Leaf next door.
My favorite part about Orange Leaf is like... everything. I grabbed my usual cup of frozen yogurt and got ready for the adventure. I got some brownie batter and chocolate chips! Obviously my favorite. Then it was time for the best part... toppings.
Miley and I was having so much fun pilling our cup with gummies ,waffle cone pieces, caramel, and a bunch of others topping.
As we settled down, I begin to speak. "If you are not busy, I thought maybe, somehow we could fix camp?"
Miley seems to pause for a second before replying. Then she began to speak, "We need to find Liam"
