Dear John and Jaren,

The Supreme Court is upholding the University of Michigan Law School's policy about race being one of the factors colleges consider when selecting students.

You two have been gone for about twenty-four years now and it seems like we're starting to go backwards with our progress.

Neither of you died in vain and I'll be damned if people forget your names and hard work and dedication. At least the guys and I will always remember, even if nobody else does.

At sixty-two, my memory is absolute mush, but no matter how bad it gets, we'll always remember each other and you both. Always.

Cameron
