Kig stared out the barren window, the sunrise a nice orange color that rose to pink. He was never awake to see one. Aiden was still snuggled into his side as he halfly laid on his bed, the snoring faded as chirping could faintly be heard, an alien thing to Kig as he searched for the source; trying his best not to move his body, he adjusted his head to see more out of the window, only his chest rising and falling as he breathed. A stir from his side asserting his attention, he looked down as Aiden sat up, rubbing the sleepiness from his eyes like a child - although something seemed a bit off about it to Kig. Opening one tired eye as he rubbed the other, Kig's chest felt light and fluttered.

"Hey,"Aiden sleepily smiled up at him. "You got some sleep right? I didn't keep you up?"

"Yeah," Kig lied, smiling down at him. "I got some sleep."

"Good." Aiden sat up a bit more, their faces almost inches apart, Kig felt his chest tighten. "I'd feel bad if I did."

"You didn't, I promise." Kig was telling the truth, Aiden wasn't the one that kept him up; he decided to withhold some information.

"So what're we doing today?"

"Anything you want I guess, I didn't make any plans."

"What do you usually do?"

"We're usually getting supplies."

"Oh." Aiden thought before excitedly flying up, expelling his past tiredness. Kig curiously watched as he got onto his knees beside his bed before noticing that it was lifted up - they hadn't given him anything to put the mattress on, just the mattress - as Aiden slipped his bag out from underneath, now seeming much more empty than before. "We could read some more"

"If that's what you want to do." Kig sat against his wall, body and arm sore from temporarily becoming a statue for the shorter being.

"Have you finished 'To Kill a Man, to Kill a Million'?"

"Halfly. I read a bit while you were in the bath."

"You could keep reading that if you want, or you could read this one with me." Aiden hopped over, bouncing on the groaning mattress as he sat beside him; snuggling back into his side, Kig smiled at the cuteness he found in the action. "It can get confusing being into two books though."

"Alright." Kig slipped the book from inside his jacket, a foreign feeling as it left his side. He watched through the corner of his eye as Aiden expertly opened his book with his thumb. Attempting the same trick, Kig cut his finger against the paper.

"Are you alright?" Aiden peered over his book, concern in his ocean eyes.

"I've gotten worse."

"Right..." Kig could see Aiden felt guilty about bringing the topic back, but didn't quite understand how to reassure him it was alright. Aiden shifted down to where his head rested against Kig's arm, burying his nose into his book. Kig started to read his own, but curiosity gripped him and he sneakily - at least attempted to - looked over at Aiden's book; learning Aiden read much faster than him, he attempted to catch up, soon noticing Aiden was slowing down.

"Where are you on the page?" Kig jumped a bit causing Aiden to chuckle.

"What?"

"Where are you on the page?" Aiden looked up at him. "I know you're reading over my shoulder." Kig felt warmth consume his face and ears, Aiden smiled up, giggling a bit.

"The hell you laughing at?"

"You're blushing!" Kig slightly cocked his head in question. "You don't know what blushing is? It's when your face warms up and turns red after being embarrassed or flustered."
