You just recently graduated high school, but you were so sad because you had to leave one of the best people in your life behind while you went to university. Demi is about three years younger than you so when you leave she still has a few years of high school left. You guys are really close and both are well aware that you like each other but Demi is dating someone and you feel like you missed your chance with her. So you continue to be close with her texting her all the time and hanging out with her whenever you get the chance. You are leaving for university in about a week so you decided to spend a few days at a friends house so you could say goodbye to her and to Demi.

It's your last day at your friends house before you leave to go back home and finish packing. You decide to text Demi.

To: Demzz

Hey gorgeous you coming to say goodbye today?

From: Demzz

Umm no i cant I'm actually not in town and i have work tonight so i can't sorry :/

You can feel your heart breaking, you're going to miss her so much and she won't even come say goodbye.

To: Demzz

oh yeah its ok don't worry about it.

She never answered you after that, so when you left your friends house you said goodbye to everyone that came to see you.

It's the night before you are leaving and you text Demi.

To: Demzz

ok so i'm leaving tomorrow it really sucks that i didnt get to see you before i left but i guess it's ok. I'll come back and see you whenever i can i promise.

From: Demzz

But Y/N..... i dont want to say goodbye.

To:Demzz

We arent really saying goodbye just see you later I'll be back as soon as i can!

You guys continue to text the whole night and for a few nights after that, but slowly you start talking less and less. You start to feel like she is just completely forgetting all about you and there isnt anything you can do about it. The thought of her forgetting you breaks every piece of your heart. Yet you can never find the right words to say to her and ask her if she actually is forgetting you or not.

One night you think you finally find the right words to say to her so you send her a text.

To: Demzz

Ok so i feel like you have completely forgot about me or you are at least starting to forget about me. we talk less and less everyday and i just dont know what to do anymore. If you are starting to forget about me please tell me so i can figure out how to process what is going on.

you wait and wait for an answer and after about 2 hours she finally answers you.

From: Demzz

I dont really know how i am feeling right now, I'm not forgetting about you but right now my emotions are all over the place and i dont know how to feel about you anymore. I dont want to lose you but at the same time i dont have you in the first place.

To: Demzz

i guess i will just make this easier on both of us then Demi. I love you but i cant go through everyday feeling ignored by the person i care about most. so i am doing this because its what is best for you and i am so sorry that im about to break my promise but i have to. Goodbye Demi.

Demi tries texting you over and over again but you just ignore every attempt and turn your phone off. You spend days and months trying to forget about Demi but no matter how hard you try she is always on your mind but you know what you did was best and you can see that from all her posts. What was important is that she is happy even if you aren't
