DAY : c17

Benjamin :

Awkwardness filled the small table as i walked passed four of the basketball players. They all laughed at the same time as i shook my head forcing myself to pay them dust.

Why now? Why test me when I'm this close to graduating. . .

Sighing as Simon approached me alongside India and clay. "You're in" she winked as she handed me a small but thick leather card. "What?" I asked slightly confused as she opened it.

"You're officially in" she smiled as i chuckled at the fake I.D she got one of her older friends to make. "Told you once you hang with me you'll get the finer things" she laughed as i tucked the card away into my backpack.

"Friday we're going out, so be in attendance" she spoke as we both stopped for a second staring at Daryl girlfriend as she was all over him, doing the most.

"Mhm" she mumbled as i quickly looked away as she noticed we were both looking at each other. "If he try you? Try his ass back" she eyed me before walking off.

"See you been hanging with the popular crew" Kenneth said slightly surprising me as i turned my head. "Enjoying school for what it is, plus after graduation i won't see anyone here so" i shrugged as he made this face nodding.

"No secrets right?" I asked as he cuffed the strap of his backpack. "You And Lev?" I asked as i squinted my eyes looking at the mark on his neck. "What you mean?" He asked as i let out a silent sigh.

"Y'all been hanging around a lot, and he's never came watched y'all practice until y'all became buddy buddy, and you said out your own mouth 'that's my nigga'; nigga in boyfriend?" I asked as he was shaking his head at me stepping away.

"Fuck that" i spoke to myself walking behind him. "Tell me Kenneth is it?!" I asked grabbing his shoulder as he stumbled into someone. He apologized to the girl just before turning back to me.

"Are you fucking insane Benjamin? What the hell. Bruh" he sucking in his lips raising an eyebrow at me as he gave me a look i hated.

"It's a simple question.." looking at him as he stared at me. "Best friend my ass. I get why my momma don't like your sneaky ass. Fuck you" i blurted out before i realize the words that just fallen from my lips.

"Woooow...." he exhausted out sucking his teeth as he took a deep swallow nodding his head at me.

Why did i say that. I didn't mean it

"Kenneth... i-" he stepped closer to me as i tensed up a little. "Can't believe you would throw that in my face, knowing how much i looked up to her." He spoke.

"Good to know what your family think of me. Guess that explains why she always tried keeping us apart" he explained.

"She knew i had feelings for you, so i guess that makes sense. I mean look at you? You were her diamond token and i was the fucked up one" he laughed out loud shaking his head as he sighed with a deep breath shrugging his shoulders.

"You're just like her" he said as Lakeshia walked towards the corner smiling at us both. "What's going on best buds?" She asked as his jaws clenched looking at me.

"Got into a lil heated argument" he said as she looked at me than him. "About?" She asked as i could feel my stomach doing flips. "My sneaky ass right?" He asked looking at me.

"I'll make sure this sneaky ass nigga stay out of your way" he firmly spoke as L eyes bucked as he roughly bumping to my shoulder passing me.

"WHAT-Th-fu-"  she whispered out as i covered my mouth gagging a little. You know the weird feeling you get during the drop of a rollercoaster. That sums up the feeling that's flowing through my body.

"I just lost my best friend for sure" i mumbled hitting my head as she grabbed my hands. "Breathe" she calmly suggested as i tried not to cry.

"What happen?"  She asked as i explained to her the stupid mistake i just made. Why was i so caught up in my emotions.

"That was very stupid to say Ben. You know i care about you both, and with him loosing his mom...." she titled her head with a sigh.

"Ben... that probably hurt him a lot. Your mom is the next woman in line that he looked up to as a mother growing up." She said.

"You know i like taken your side in fights, but this one. You're in the wrong for that comment. You had no right repeating and crushing the last hope he probably have in a woman" she explained as we were walking.

I noticed him grabbing his gym bag walking towards the gymnasium. "Just let him cool off and come to you first" she said pulling me back. "What if he don't?" I asked. "Than that's something you have to accept. You made this bed love. Now lie in it" she shrugged.

Kenneth :

"Whoever pissed you off should do it more" Quinn said as i made every shot i threw up. "I'm not pissed off, I'm relieved" i responded as he passed me the ball.

"Damn boy" he smiled as the 3-pointer went in. "That's. What. I'm. Talking. ABOUT!" He shouted as we slapped hands after each word before he did our team hand shake.

The bell rung just as i placed my basketball into my bag. "I'll catch you in practice after school" Quinn spoke before running off to his girl.

It was taking everything out of me not to swing on Benjamin. Honestly I'd already accept that his mom didn't care for me after our encounter a while back.

She thought i was trying to turn homie out, she thought i was make him ghetto, she thought i was a bad influence, she saw the worst in me for no reason.

Guess that has rubbed off on him. He smiled at me as he looked down to his camera. "You look good" i complimented him. "What's that meme 'get you a man that can do both'" he smiled showing his pretty teeth.

"How was the interview?" I asked. "It was smooth. Didn't get the position i wanted" he said still smiling as i laughed. "Why you so happy?" I asked as i made sure nobody was looking into my phone as i was walking down the hallway.

"My Nigga pretty that's why. Miss you man. Still can't believe we're together. I mean i get why we're fine, but didn't think it would happen" he said making me smile.

"Mhnhum, why you buttering me up? What's tea?" I said as we both laughed. Standing beside my class door as i watched the clock. I had a minute until class started.

"I too the assistant coach in training position" he said as i looked at him excited. "That's great too!" I said as he nodded. "Right, but it's in humble" he explained as the bell rung.

"We'll talk about it later. I promise" he explained as my facial expression revealed my true feelings.

Taken my seat as 'damn' muttered from my lips.
